Amazing how a fusion of industrial rock and middle eastern instruments with a pinch of techno can produce such a harmonious result. There is even middle eastern vocals. This soundtrack is severely underrated.

GLA has some of the best units I've ever heard in a video game: The worker is that one poor guy that has to do everything The rebel is that positive guy who really thinks he can make a dent for his cause. The toxin tractor is that really crazy guy who is obsessed with toxins and somesuch. the quad cannon is the mean guy that gets upset really fast AND THE LIST GOES ON :D

When I was smaller I always thought the Theme 09 (26:00) is USA's soundtrack, and now I get why: it uses instruments similar to those in the USA soundtrack. The rest of GLA music doesn't use those instruments, and I think the 09 theme is inspired by the mission where you playing as GLA steal USA's equipment. That makes so much more sense for me now lol

Keep in mind it's not often individual developers that are money-hungry. It's the fact games take a lot of money to make, thus typically a developer has to basically work for and through some business-people who may or may not actually care about the games. Thus they are choked by, say, higher-ups in EA and such. But then you could even counter that said higher-ups have tried doing games for the art in the past, but when they give too much leeway developers could try to make a too "perfect" game leading to significant delays and a lack of profit which then brings us to the crushing realization that no matter how beautiful an art piece is, customers who rave about it are still too cheap to barely pay $10, no matter if they spend 1,000 hours with it, without showing any further support. Basically, the consumers have cut-off the legs of truly great games because of our belief that games should rarely be outright pricey (nevermind DLC/lootboxes/etc.)

You have awesome games and companies like Killing Floor 2 (Tripwire Interactive) that is only medium price and gets FREE content patches every few months for years after release, jup. Vermintide 2 (Fatshark) medium price, nice content. Not as much content as in Killing Floor 2 but a nice DLC policy that is somewhat the same and good content for the price. About RTS though, that genre is pretty dead. However, WC3 reforged will ruined all my hopes

Generals really nail the 3 toughest military forces in the world. Technology prowess of the USA, the patriotism and sheer number of China and the hidden and unpredictable swift and ruthless tactics from the Middle east. They fucking nail the gameplay as such too. For GLA, you never fight opponants head on, always about attacking backlines etc. This game is pure genius and still one of the best RTS of all time after 20 years. Perhaps hamas did it all only because it's 20th anniversary of this game!

Middle eaat just experiences result of its own ignorance, fanaticism and lack of reason. I am from Turkey and here we are connected to Europe at one end and connected to MidEast at other end. And we are somewhere between reasoning and fanaticism. The cure is; -Dry entire oil fields so that other powers will have no interest. -Close borders, just let food and other supplies flow in. Definitely no weapons shall be allowed. -Stop supporting gulf countries -Wait some time This wont bring reasoning to people there but at least little innocent children wont suffer the consequences they havent caused anyway.

I feel like the vocal improvisation until 7:08 sounded kind of Indian though I might be wrong. I think the term for a kind of vocal improvisation in Turkish is called Uzun Hava. Generals Zero Hour needs to be remastered. It is truly one of the best games of the C&C series that stingy EA does not care about because of its financial goals (or stupid political reasons). Even the original game is not currently available on Steam. We waited for EA Games to do something for years. Edit: Generals Evolution mod released for RA3 on moddb. It is unofficial but it is biggest and most fun "remake" project ever about Generals Zero Hour. Someone did a thing finally what poor EA didn't. EA should think about it. The project is very valuable.

@@thrax1831 well, well, well..... he is doing good progress, but sadly he has to remove the ingame transmissions where the ra3-commanders are speaking. but regardless of how much leftovers there are in the mod, it does make a pretty neat first impression. Oh, and apparently micheal bay was involved in making this mod, cant explain otherwise why there are so many and big explosion in there. ;)
