Honestly I wonder sometimes if they understand Jon is in the lead and won’t hesitate to kill them. I mean Jeremy could have killed him, still had time to cast his Commander, and truly got a bonus point from his role. But instead, he let him live then had to beg for time to cast his Commander, which of course Jon wasn’t giving. So fulfilling his role was just a wash. I’m like, are you guys trying to win as much as Jon, or... I know what bearded Jeremy was trying to do! He wasn’t playing around! lol

I've been watching this series for a very long time but man, I think season 14 is by far the season wherein everybody is putting their A-game when it comes to deck building and play. Even the points (both pre- and post- game standing) says it so. This episode in particular is one for the books wherein Parnell did the imposible, the unthinkable. Kudos to everyone for keeping everything commander very interesting. Truly, you prove that you're the best when it comes to producing everything Commander content. More power to everyone. ps. I congratulated Justin for this game. he gained my respect in this episode. But I am still #teamgreen

The Darksteel Ingot and black border Shivan Reef are owned by the same player. Justin you can't respond to the Academy Ruins being chosen as part of the resolution.

I knew what Goblin Spykit does, but I didn't even put 2 + 2 together. Brilliant move, Justin. I think that role isn't as hard as it seems because it doesn't say "combat damage," but still an impressive win.

I requested several times to do a theme where decks should be build only with cards from different sets. Jeremys hidden role is exactly what I ment. Would be fun to see an episode where every deck would have to apply to this rule.

Haven't finished the video yet, but one small important note - Eye of the Storm has been updated such that each instance of play is replaced with cast... so it will trigger any cast triggers you have it can trigger them all. I play it in my Ramos deck, and it's pretty great... but also terrible.

so I'm watching these episodes for years now, witnessing the development of your personalities and ultimately it comes down to this why I root for certain people: 1. likeability 2. deckbuilding and commander choices 3. fun factor 4. skill. recently I find myself in #teamgreen simply because Stephen seems to be the heart and soul of Commander VS and the others tend to gang up on him more often than not these days. I will not name whom I started to kinda dislike because of his unfun moves and other questionable choices, but Justin is up there again on the top right next to Stephen on my love list with today's game! great job!

Why is Justin able to activate ruins when John chooses it with Expropriate? Shouldn't he not be able to because it's a choice and not a target or a trigger, and because the spell is in the middle of responding?

Yes that was an illegal play, he had to do that in response to the Expropriate, you can't do anything in the middle of resolving the spell.

Stephen's creatures got heroic intervention at 58:48 and since the spell cultural exchange targets creatures he cannot target Stephen's creatures. 1:01:10. Unless that's not how it actually works

I love these roles but I really think that some of them need to be worth more than others. Jeremy's challenge is WAY easier to pull off and has basically no way to stop it, yet is worth just as much as the others, which are close to impossible to pull off even semi-consistently even assuming nobody blocks you trying to do it

True, but I feel Jeremy's challenge is also WAY more restricting than the others. Like Justin could have played any Blue deck except it has the humonculous in it.

@@alexzander7629 It's really not that restrictive, since reprint sets apparently count as unique sets. He could play any kind of goodstuff pile without any kind of theme to it and be fine that way.

I agree, but I don't think Jeremy's was the notably easy one. Jon's was play an incredibly good commander and stephen's was play any cards that could return to his hand. Additionally, good stuff piles get a lot less good when you can't add any recursion and picking up a good card advantage card means probably dropping something else that's good.

Odd technicality and correct me if I am wrong, but when expropriate resolves, wouldn't the darksteel ingot and azorius signet count as things owned by Jeremy and therefore he had to steal a land from Stephen?

Does the fact that for a brief moment Jeremy had control of a Myr Retriever (after the Scrambleverse) mean he lost his role? Because the text of the role says "only cast or play". I didn't check to see if he had another card from the same set in play. Figure he's okay because he only controlled it, didn't cast or play it. But I'd love it if that meant he lost his role.

How can Justin make damage to Jhoira with Niv Mizzets effect? It says "you" not "a player" draws a card. The Niv wasn't enchanted as far I saw.

Next time you do roles, you should make them not hidden. They can be chosen at random, but make it so that each one is up for grabs for whoever can complete it first.

I am always for Team Green but i have to make a slow clap for that amazing puppet conjurer kill by Justin. Bravo,sir,well deserved! Though dissapointing that Jeremy is Un-bearded,otherwise he would mercilessly incinerate Jon with all 11 Ignite Memories. Jeremy actually spelled the doom for both Stephen and himself,which is a shame. Also,you forgot to exile Expropriate as it says on the card,thus Aeon Chronicler would have been 16 i believe instead of 17,but doesn't make a difference.

The true chaos player would have let the perplexing chimera live. Perplexing chimera is one of those cards that non chaos players hold onto for too long. If you're too scared of the idea of an opponent having Perplexing chimera, you shouldn't run it
