This week features Commanders from a never-before-aired episode! The guys bring some of their favorite commanders from an unaired video to give them some on-air love. Can Suarez's 89 land deck take out the all-permanents Ruric Thar? Or will Marchesa steal the show before Animar becomes large and in charge?

Hey I think a good idea is to have all "friendly" decks. Zedru, pheddlegrif, selvala and braids for instance! Thumbs up if you like the idea!

The best videos are the ones with no theme, just sweet decks. Themes are okay every once in a while but awesome decks that you want to play should be the default.

Lol wes wise's marchesa.....he never even cast her. Zero dethrone on a dethrone commander. He should stick to blue (not to be mean, just would like to see people playing their decks properly). Would love to see your guys' take on vish kal. Fun game to watch, you guys are improving a lot! Excited for this series again, thank you!! :)

what can't you understand... with farhaven elf you search your deck for a basic land, and put it into play tapped... he searched for a basic mountain but didn't put it into play and instead put it into his hand....

Around the 31:50 mark, Stephen and Wes aren't supposed to draw when Ruic Thar dies. Dies means it goes from the battlefield to the graveyard, but Thar, being a Commander, went to the Command Zone instead. A commander doesn't go from the Grave to to Command Zone.

You guys could do some theme decks with a type of permanent in mind. But not everybody gets the same type. Each player gets to choose a different type. Examples : A deck based around lands (Landfall, making your lands into creatures, etc) Artifacts (Just doing artifacts things) Enchantment (Overloading your pretty playmat with 10000 effects that will just put a target on your head) Creatures (Swing, then swing again and then swing) Instants/Sorceries (Bring back McDarby for this one or just give Wes the opportunity to play his goddamn Cryptic Command over and over again) All I want is to see a Sydri deck, because she looks like so much fun and I'd like to see her in action.

I would love to see you guys do a 4-person 5-color commander battle. Reaper King, Horde of Notions, Scion of the Ur-Dragon, and one of the Slivers. I love crazy commander games and a 5 color battle would be pretty crazy I would think.

A few suggestions: Innistrad Tribals (Olvia Vampires, Grim Grin Zombie, Geist of St. Traft Spirits and Gisela Angels) Un-Commanders (Richard Garfield, Timmy Power Gamer, Frankie Peanuts and Jalum Grifter) Homelands Commanders Legends Commanders (No Elder Dragons since you already did those) Pauper Commander CMDR Exclusive Commanders (1 from each year, C12, C13, C14 and C15)

Usually playing an Anima Commander with a lot of big Creatures like Ulamog, Kozilek, Myojin of Life's Web ( great Combo with Grozoth and other 9 mana Creature's coming up in the next Set.) Other great Cards are definetly Vorel, of the Hull Clade to double the Counters on Animar and Cloudstone Curio. With a perfect Hand you can crush all enemys as Long as they let you play these Cards. Turn 1 : Forest + Birds of Paradise Turn 2 : Island + Cloudstone Curio Turn 3 : Mountain + Animar Turn 4 : 1 Morph Creauture for 3 Mana + 1 Morph for 2 Mana because of the first Counter on Anima. Trigger Cloudstone Curio and return one Morph back to your Hand. Turn 5: 1 Morph for 1 Mana and return the other one to your Hand. Animar has 3 Counter and you can cast Morphs for free, until you reach enough Counter to Play Ulamog the Infinity Gyre, you can handle him the same way as the Morphs and cast and put him back to your Hand, until the enemy filed is empty. than Attack with an 40/40 Animar and crush the first enemy. Turn 6: Bounce Ulamog again with the last Morph in our Hand and Exile everything of your enemy's and go ahaed killing them. Have fun with this :D

I know this episode is old news by this point, but I'm catching up. In keeping with sacred tradition, I have to point out something I noticed: Animar gets the counter as soon as Fathom Mage is cast, so the Fathom Mage evolves as soon as it enters play. With Narset/Jeleva/Mizzix/Talrand creatureless decks all over the place, it's nice to see Ruric Thar and Keranos with other takes on loading up on a particular type of card.

+soldancer Animar does get the counter on cast, but that will not natively trigger an evolve on Fathom Mage. Evolve happens when a creatures enters the battlefield with more power or toughness than the Evolving creature; Animar did not enter the battlefield after Fathom Mage. Even if it did, barring some very odd circumstances it won't trigger an evolve anyway given that it and Fathom Mage are both 1/1s. It's possible with something like Opal Palace, but that's a wildly different scenario than what happens.

I reckon for a 4v4 game: Justin with a Keranos ping deck Stephen with a Jarad counters deck Jon with a Mikaeus mono B ramp deck and Wes with a Damia group hug deck I have a deck of each of these. Another possibility are 5 colour tribal decks (eg. elementals, avatars, allies, Slivers)

+Gasuta LP I built an insanely cheap Marchesa deck a number of weeks ago that solely focuses on stealing and sacrificing creatures during the attack step to get them permanently. It actually stacks up pretty well

hey guys ive got a strange little idea for commander versus videos, i love the commander 2014 with Planeswalkers that can be used as generals. so here is my idea lets pretend any Planeswalker can be used as general just for 1 game, the only rule you can only use a planeswalker with convertad manacost of 5 or higher, this could give commander a extra fun factor. this could be a fun challenge for you and for the viewers :) thx for reading and keep on the good work guys :D

Im pretty sure dies means it hits the grave. for instance I know for a fact the Anafenza, the Foremost completely negates Athreos's trigger because she exiles creatures instead of letting them hit the grave yard, yet Atheos says "dies" for the ability to trigger. So by those rules (and ive done my research) a creature needs to hit the graveyard for it to count as it dying. Just sayin...

Hey Guys! I thought of an awesome way to finish the season! Here is the breakdown: Whoever is the points leader will pilot Nicol Bolas deck in an Archenemy Commander game. The other three will pilot decks lead by legendaries with colours that match one of the five Alara wedges and duke it out in a fight for the internets!

+synthetic legion you can still run infect decks. Xenagod infect, skithiryx, mimeoplasm infect and I am not sure for a 4th deck.

use the commander 2014 generals (the planeswalkers) but with a twist. no budget limit, so you rock out the same generals and add in any cards that you want

I think there should be a commander battle where each has one of the 4 duel color elf decks that include green themed decks, so an elf green blue, green black, green white, and green red (yes there are green red elves even a legendary green red elf)

+Mark Harland 700.4. The term dies means “is put into a graveyard from the battlefield.” The commander going to the commandzone is a replacement effect replacing going to the graveyard or exile so the card never actually dies. If a General would be put into a graveyard, library, hand, or exile from anywhere, its owner may put it in the command zone instead. Keyword instead.

You never draw from commanders going to the command zone with effects like harvester of souls, because the creature never actually goes to the graveyard from play (the defination of dies).

Would it have made more sense to use the Zealous Conscripts trigger on Gaea's Cradle, use that to pump up Omnath, and then use Xenagos to double Omnath? Hard to tell what I'm looking at in the video but seems like that may have turned Omnath into a 24/24 attacker.

+Claudio Barrera Yup, for something to "die" it has to go to the graveyard. Command zone replacement effect will not trigger "dies".

+AItemusPrime it dies in the sense of the word, not for the sense of the rules. The rules state when a creature dies, it goes from battlefield to grave. Commanders can be placed in the Command Zone instead of the grave, meaning anything that triggers when a creature dies won't activate.

Technically Justin was at -1 not -15, after the first resolution of a seismic assault trigger, he goes to -1, ending the game before the rest of the triggers resolve.

I'm sorry Stephen. But why you know Cloudstone Curio for infinite bounces on colorless creatures. Purphorous creates infinite damage. Or even Aluren for infinite bounces on Man O War, Dream Stalker, or Shrieking Drake

+Uwe Hausig I believe they're talking about the triggers from the Harvesters of Souls when Ruric Thar went to the command zone after taking lethal damage around 31:40. He died, but didn't since it went to the command zone instead of the graveyard. Harvester doesn't trigger.

Cant use bounce twice stephen had lethal he had to get rid of and cannot target Purphoros as Purphoros was not a creature he was an indestructible enchatment

I don't know what land Justin plays on the turn he plays omnath but omnath only holds onto green mana so if the land he puts into play doesn't generate green then omnath would only get +3/+3. If the land he plays generates green then ignore me but I can't tell.

+Colton Whitmer I just assumed that he did a take back, putting the colorless into the Conscripts, and actually saving a green. The land does tap for colorless.
