This is the most hardcore sunforger deck I've ever assembled. It is a controlling voltron deck that should be well suited for many high power games.

haha awesome! Ive been thinking about building this one also. Ive got atleast 1 or 2 more games with this one filmed. We'll see what shows up down the road.

Nice build. Could get Reprieve and Delayed Blast Fireball into the list of things you wanna jam.

Delayed Blast Fireball doesnt work the way you want it to, sunforger doesnt exile it, it just cast. Therefore I would use volcanic fallout instead for the cant be countered, and I would really love to find a slot for it...cleans up green decks real nicely. I was using reprieve in some of the tests, and it really underperformed. Its only really good if they tapout for the play, and its terrible against spot removal. Lapse of certainty buys you a turn which is really critical.

@@CommanderReplay I don't think Sunforger is giving you the five damage, I just think the card works at a totally fine rate for its 3 cost a lot of the time. As for reprieve, I'd be choosing it in addition to lapse

I did the math on the 1 land brainstorm thing. If you are playing 37 lands, you have a 78% chance to hit another land. at 33 lands, it's a 73% chance. I would probably not do that either way unless my commander was 2 mana and either drew me cards or ramped. Otherwise, the 25% whiff into brainstorm lock is too much of a risk.

Yeah I agree, the risk isnt worth it. Getting mulligans right is a big part of the game that I think people play too fast and loose with.

Would LOVE to go against this deck...you pilot a sunforger package so well, I was sweating and I wasn't even in the game!

Gonna need another go fund me or something, definitely missing all the expensive stuff for this one. The spells should be pretty cheap though.

That comment about wayfarer's bauble is true of ALL ramp. Something most people don't think about - even rampant growth is MUCH MUCH worse than making a land drop for turn. Hear ye, hear ye! Ramp is only good if you have enough lands to hit your land drops!

Yes that is true, but what I will say, is that lets say nature's lore or three visits, are the 2 mana and i think the land is untapped for both. The 3 mana and comes in tapped on bauble is just not good IMO. In the 1000 or so games that ive been played here, theres just hasnt been a time where im like "man this deck really needs a bauble"

Yeah i had been getting a hankering for some sunforger action. I still want to try and get a few more spells in but decks list are soooo tight.

They over complicated their product catalog so I really dont keep up on what they are doing. I just play the cards :)

No Feather in this deck. She makes Sunforger so much more fun.

Yeah with certain things they work well together, but this deck is more removal heavy so feather is ok but its kind of stretch in this instance. A devoted feather deck on the other hand, is a pretty good time.

Most likely. After the scoops, there was some hope but it was gonna be real close, like single digit life. 2 blocks to get the counters to break the combo. I didnt run the match. That said, they did bring a literal cedh list to the table, so they overshot the power. As good as my deck is its not a cedh deck.

@@CommanderReplay The turn Najeela got out derevi they swung with 2 warriors that turned into 4 because of Najeela's effects. With the second combat they were going to be swinging with 4 turning in to 8 and only 5 of those needed to connect for them to another extra combat. They had infinite, they just misclicked. Najeela giving them haste is broken.

Its certainly in the conversation. I do really like the free equips of Bruenor and Ardenn though. But Kellan allows you to focus around specific pieces like sunforger, or whatever you are feeling.

No longer necessary with Kellan. Tibalts trickery and REB are also solid counterspells.

Bro, I'm sorry but this game was a joke. You had someone who kept a one land hand while playing Shurikai and conceded after 6 turns and having no impact. You had someone who seemed like he didn't even know how to play the game, playing at sorcery speed with Leyline out, skipping their turns, and running Wayfarer's Bauble in "high power"? The only contest was the Najeela, which is good, but it was essentially a 1v1. Not a great showing for the deck.

This was an open magic online game. You never know what you're going to get. But yes 2 players did nothing, so mostly a 1v1.
