I remember there is a tank at the other side of the river next to this bridge, and you are basically done if you just get into the tank. Strangely, it seems that nobody would like to use the tank (I also watched some other videos about this mission). Did I play a different version of this game when I was young?

if you use the tank to blow up the explosives on the left side of the bridge you cant finish the mission, strangly you have to use your own explosives.
