Commissioning Apocalypse

Here I eventually found the footage I had for the commissioning phase of Apocalypse, the sail from Lorient to Cadiz and then later some footage after the Cannes boat show to Corsica.
I hope this gives you all some helpful information.

Love the videos keep it up I just saw a video about a orc 42 where mistakes were made , I'm sure you heard about it , did you take this in consideration? And what is your take on this having worked so close with marsaudon (if not familiar Google keel broke off mid Atlantic marsaudon orc 42)

Having followed you from the beginning. It took me a while to work out you have upgraded from your Neel to Apocalypse. I just watched a report from a fellow Englishman who bought a Ts42 back 2016. He has had a shocking experience , as you may well know about? I have been considering a 42 but have been put off by his example. I'm wondering what your experiences have been with the overall construction?

Yet again, there's a LOT of history with this guy. There's lot he doesn't say in his videos. The fight could have ended for him long ago. In my opinion it was struck, and very clearly so.

What was the fastest you got Carry On to go?

good question, but when you ask it, it should be on a flat sea and with 20kn winds. In which case it would be a sustained 15 kn. However I would not recommend that as a realistic goal. Surfing I managed 17kn but that is just surfing. When all the stars are aligned and you have flat seas and 16-20kn winds you should be aiming for 10-11kn average. Although you are not sticking with what it says in the manual and this requires more skill than your average weekend sailor (sorry if that sounds arrogant). Also this requires the TWA at 120. Apocalypse on the other hand almost never sails at anything less that 10kn if the skipper has done good passage planning. Even upwind. so you can appreciate it is a totally different weapon with different responsibilities and goals. Not a boat for L plates. Hope this helps Sir! So far the max speed has been 28KN on apocalypse with out much serious effort.

the neel just sails like shit, so many ex neel owners switcing to performance cats.

@@andrewsnedeker8965 yes, been on neel plenty, its not a tri. If you want to sail a true tri go sail corsair dragonfly or mcconoughy

@@pred7949 That wasn't his reason. As he has said, the liked the Neel but just wanted more performance. He was very complimentary about it when I spoke to him.
