Really appreciate the practical yet not-so-common, common sense approaches to safety, simplicity and durability. Thank you for the detailed explanations and especially the thought processes behind each decision and choice you’ve made, clearly they are done with much intention and consideration. I would love to see a deep dive and hear more about your electronincs system on Apocalypse and integration of all your devices with NKE, Open CPN and the CAN Bus network and which ones you have found work well together, are the most reliabile and are user friendly to someone wanting to do a full custom DIY electronincs network without being dependant on expensive proprietary components. Keep up with the great work and fair winds!

Great vid 👍 Have been watching your back catalogue :) We are a family of four from NZ with young kids. Picking up a NEEL 52 in Dec for a few years of circumnavigation all going well and your videos have been awesome. Quick question. Did you go carbon and dyneema rigging on the ORC? Have your thoughts on performance rigging changed on the NEEL? Any tips on the 52 build and spec outside your videos would be highly appreciated! We are very visiting the shipyard in May to go through the details.

In principal I have to agree , equal abilities does make for a much easier and more stress free life, But lets be realistic, for many of us what you are talking about is little more than a pipe dream, I wasted ten years of my life racing with someone who did not understand his boat, was often in such a dream he forgot the rules, Did not understand currents and their effect and was dismissive of much that I did to win races. He was rude to crew and fellow competitors alike seemed completely incapable of not bashing into other boats. God only knows how or why I put up with his nonsense for so long, had it not been for failing health I might still be sailing with him. Why is that?, well I developed an understanding with his boat, and despite his blundering attempts at sabotage we managed to do well picking up quite a few trophies.So maybe it was not such a waste and there are plenty of good memories to go with the bad.
