Here are some common questions I get about my Lotus Evora NOT from people who are looking or interested in purchasing one - that review will come later for sure. After a little hiatus I decided it was time to get back into the swing of making some videos and go through all of the content we shot replacing the Evora engine (update on the car coming soon, too).

That’s an actual hot take to say you wouldn’t buy the Emira when most Lotus owners have praised it. I personally think it looks great but I’ll always be bummed it didn’t have the small backseat that the Evora has. I pick up my son from school and he loves hoping into the backseat of my 2011 Evora.

I'm going to make a separate video going more into why I wouldn't buy one, but honestly as an Evora owner I just couldn't really imagine spending 80k+ on what is essentially the same car. Same chassis, same 2GR engine, just with some updates. Granted after spending time with the Emira I can tell that they did genuinely look out for what Evora owners were complaining about and really worked to fix them in the newer model, but for way less I can do most of those fixes to a car I already own.

@@CarFemme I think that is all valid. The Emira is an upgraded Evora with some new styling and no backseat. In person it just looks better quality. I didn’t quite understand the importance of including the option for a Mercedes AMG 4 cylinder though. A Lotus exec told me it widens their customer base but what do I know.

@@andrewbryl4879 I haven't driven the AMG inline 4 yet and if I'm being honest I really don't care to. I'm not a manual elitist jerk by any means but for that car I'm not very interested in driving an automatic.
