Hi Dave, yes, they are stunning birds and normally very hard to get anywhere near. In fact, very hard to see against pebbles unless you zoom right in or use binoculars. Hi Manu, it was not easy to find them in the first place but I thought it through and gave myself what was my best chance and managed to find them in under an hour. (It could have taken all day.) Hi Andrea, I hope things are ok with you and your family. It has been very tough here, with my physical problems, my house 'wet rot' worries, and my older brother passing away due to cancer, in the last week! I hate that horrid disease! But not a lot can be done for all the above, so we soldier on and make the most of what we do have, which is still a good life compared to millions of less fortunate people over the World. I have been selling my collectibles and belongings to help pay for some of the work that has to be done at my home, but it is a fairly slow process. Sorry to be a little down, but I have had only one or two hours of sleep (if that) for 4 nights running and it has caught up with me now. I am only making 1 video public every 4 weeks now, to give me more time to work on sorting through my very full garage and other areas to sort through a lifetime of stuff I have collected and kept, selling some, giving much away on a free site, locally and throwing away anything that has partly perished in damp conditions. I am also doing as best I can by knocking plaster off walls and other jobs I can do a little at a time, between skilled tradesmen doing their bit, etc. I have floorboards up at home now and open holes to outside, letting freezing cold air in... the house is seriously freezing and heating is costing 4 x what it was, partly due to the Ukraine invasion. ok, enough of all that now... sorry for grumbling! I guess I was fairly lucky with spotting these Plovers and their young, on such a vast and open area of pebbles, which from a distance seem to totally hide these elusive birds. It is almost impossible to see them even when you know exactly where they are! It was probably only because one moved when I was looking right at it, that I saw it. The hard thing was that there wasn't anything I could use as a reference or marker to get back on it if my eye lost it. But, as you can see, I did manage to film everything you see here, in a single visit of a few hours and when you think the time taken to collect the content for some of my other videos... a full summer season, or even longer!, then this was a real quickie! I am very happy with how it all turned out and it was even quicker to edit together, with hardly any time lost. I'm sorry things are not great at your end Andrea, or I am sure your motivation would be fine. I do still just 'drop everything I am doing' to take an odd day out in nature, just to get away from it all and enjoy what I love when it is a dry day, because life can be very stressful if you do not give yourself time, regardless of how busy you are. Anyway, I must get on with my posts here for a short while to wake myself up and be ready to get busy for the day. You do not need to answer this with a huge time-consuming reply my dear friend... you get on with what is going on at your end, but please treat yourself to some time out when you get the chance... life is too short my very dear friend. *Big warm Hugs* Send my love and best wishes to your family. 👍◕‿◕

Dear Jane, I feel so sorry reading the hardships You had... A prayer to Your brother that must have been definitely too young to pass away. What a sadness... I heard from my parents in Italy how much heating costs raised and it seems quite incredible and hard to cope. It is better here in Japan, for now, but the general cost for living raised a lot and the past times seem like a dream. I wonder what is coming next but my wife taught me how to be thankful for all what we have now, and that is really similar to what You wrote. Only recently I succeeded in feeling (sincerely) thankful for all what I have. Since I was a child my character tended to see all the missing elements, with the obvious consequence of being disappointed. My slow change started after the great earthquake in 2011. It was when I noticed that women are stronger than men during any hardships. Men are strong when all is well.. LOL And I can see Your strength. I keep wishing good health to You dear Jane.

This was an easy video for me as I only spent a few hours on all the footage and edited it quickly too. It's close to the Deer Rutting season now, so the pressure will be on with long-distance trips and lots of editing for several weeks!
