Squash deserves to be in the Olympics

Frankly the Olympic organization committee looks like a bunch of jokers to me when I see some silly sports in Olympics and squash missing from it ...

Not sure about the doubles guys. But the Sport (Singles) really should be in the Olympics.

Great match but the term for this game is Squash Doubles - Doubles Squash is actually a different game played on a different (Doubles size) court with a much harder ball.

The doubles squash looks like such and impractical sport to sustain. It's not like you just need to have an extra set of markings like for tennis or badminton ..the entire room is of different size...singles court can't be used for double and doubles can't be used for singles... As interesting as it may be it will remain an impractical sport to spread amoung the population... I have never seen a doubles court ...in my city in India I have played in 8 different venues...mostly one single court and in some places 2 singles court ... But no one even thinks of building a doubles court
@dnd5501 Жыл бұрын
the court is of the same size.. only the lines are different?? as it seems
@ryandarey216 Жыл бұрын
@@dnd5501 The Court is a different size but what you do is have 3 singles courts next to each other and Court 1 and 3 widen, so you lose Court 2. Markings are on the floor permanently for both.

I’ve played competitive doubles squash on a normal court(not com games, but at a state level in Australia and a long time ago…in the 80s). This is the first time I’ve seen a court specifically for doubles. What a thriller.

How much doubles squash is played how common are doubles squash courts ? (-I've never seen one )
@japeking13 жыл бұрын
Lots of doubles for the elderly, played on ordinary courts ( only one doubles court in the Wellington region and its too expensive ). Not much running needed and lots of care, so its only ever for fun with friends.

Can someone confirm if they are using a traditional doubles ball? or something softer
@craigrider98222 жыл бұрын
Dunlop White Pro XX (same ball used for both Singles and Doubles).
@baseballgenius32 жыл бұрын
They are using a softball. So the same standard ball for singles and doubles used for international squash. If you’re from the US you’re probably used to hardball squash. This is a very different kind of doubles. Smaller court than hardball. Much slower balls than hardball. Plus different rules for scoring. Both are fun, but very different.

Squash is dying in England. The game should be in the Olympics to promote it in the schools

I know, so hard to find courts these days, I find. My old school wouldn't even play tennis so Squash had no chance...

@@coreytreadgold1410 my local sorts centre was taken over by everyone active and they only have members for gym and swim only. No membership for racquet games. They used to and we’re busy when run by the local council. I can’t make it out. The badminton and squash courts are empty now it’s PAYG
