Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for these sort of footage for a long time. I was seven years old when the invasion took place. I still remember the Vietnamese soldiers chasing down the Khmer Rouge from a trench below we dug just hours before battle came through our village. The Khmer Rouge would have killed us all if the invasion did not take place. The video took me back to my childhood during the Killing Fields--hell on Earth, but seeing the video of the invasion reaffirms the images I held in my mind of the war all these years. No one should ever have to live through what the Cambodian people when through... Almost 2 millions murdered in less than three years. Please preserve this video for others like myself. Thanks!

Thank you for your comment. I from Tay Ninh, bordering Cambodia. We are probably of the same age. Deads did come to my village at the time, but nothing compared to what had happened in Cambodia. It would be a good act if the Vietnamese communists withdrew immediately after they drove out the Khmer Rouge, and why did they wait for so long before acting? During the 10 years stay, they took so much from Cambodia too: gold statuses, timbers etc... In actual fact, they just wanted to colonise Cambodia.

@@hoangky1240the khmer rouge army are still there so the Vietnamese have to stay and help build a new government in case pol pot come back. Also they vietnamese army stay there rebuild villages and protect them for 10 years. After 10 year of tracking khmer rouge and there's no threat of khmer rouge, the government was then stabled and have their own military, Vietnam left Cambodia

They were sacrificial goats! Most of them were Southerners: fucking Phạm Văn Đồng wanted them gone! So they were sent to invade Cambodia and be killed by the Khmer Rouge, perfectly in accordance with Đồng's plan.

@@hoangky1240 There is no document proving that the Vietnamese army that attacked and participated in the Vietnam War Cambodia was a South Vietnamese. In addition , the South Vietnamese army fought very poorly , they did not know how to use weapons from the Soviet Union . I don't think the South Vietnamese army can defeat the Khmer Rouge, if they go to war.

@@hoangky1240 I think that is reasonable . Because Polpot's army simply hid in Thai territory and the new Cambodian government had not yet been able to build a strong army to defend. It is a silly fact that at that time the United Nations, the United States, China, and Singapore were supporting the Khmer Rouge. Just think, given the weak army with the lack of weapons and Hunsen's international support, can they resist a return of Polpot.

I am sorry to say, but in the past, Vietnam always wanted to take over ( invade and occupy ) Cambodia, and so has the Thai.

Hi there... how are you? We would hope this sort of thing will not happen again! 1978-1989: Vietnam invaded and occupied Cambodia. We should work towards more understanding and appreciating one another and hope we will have everlasting peace between our three countries: Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Không có Liên Hợp Quốc đứng ra chế tài và bạn bè yêu hòa bình quốc tế ủng hộ thì bán đảo Đông Dương đã bị thôn tính và thống trị dưới tay người Việt. Sau đó người Việt- Duon cùng với dân số áp đảo chỉ trong một thời gian ngắn khoảng 10 năm sẽ biến người Khmer trở thành dân tộc thiểu số ngay trên chính quê hương mình.

@@hoangky1240 Thôi kệ người đời nói gì, rút đi cho dân nó tự đồ sát nhau cũng được, mà máu điên của chế độ diệt chủng có tha dân Việt đâu. Thôi ở lại ít năm dẹp lũ điên, có mang tiếng chút (mà mang tiếng gì ta, ở lại để bảo vệ nó, mình còn tốn tiền nuôi nó mà có đổi lại được gì đâu ngoài mấy vòng hoa). @@huytoile3125 1970 - Nam Việt Nam và Việt Cộng xâm lược Campuchia. Năm 1971, Việt Nam ném bom cầu Chroy Changva 1972 Đột kích vào sân bay Pochentong. Chính người Việt và Việt Cộng đã giúp Khmer Đỏ đánh bại quân đội Cộng hòa Khmer. Người Việt Nam đánh Khmer Đỏ vì Khmer Đỏ kết thân với Trung Quốc, mục tiêu của Việt Nam là xâm lược Campuchia và hợp nhất Campuchia vào Đông Dương thuộc Pháp, phải không?
