Some people in McMinnville said they believe there is a lack of response from local leaders on the growing issue with those experiencing homelessness.

and no one cares that the cops let landlord investors commit crimes against paying tenants, harming them and making them homeless. ... Dont think for a second the same cant happen to your family.

When I saw her I immediately understood how McMinnville had let these very Portland style encampments blossom, it instantly made sense. Surprised McMinnville residents elected her in the first place

The liberals will say that being homeless is not illegal. True but living in violation of local and state housing and health codes is. Sanitation facilities are required in residences by codes at all levels. So what to do? Declare a statewide emergency then take action. Build a new community in a central location in Oregon far from any existing community. Establish a self supporting industry within it which will pay it's costs. Collect all of Oregon's homeless and move them there, involuntarily. In an emergency this can be done. Now they can have what they need and can be protected from drug dealers too while they learn new job skills and regain their dignity. Incorporate drug rehab into the plan. Illegal you say? Not if a statewide emergency is declared. In such a scheme who loses? Only the drug dealers. Yes... it's a form of socialism but isn't that what Oregon liberals espouse anyway? Socialism would never tolerate rampant homelessness. All it takes is the political will. Declaring an emergency will protect us all from predatory lawyers and meddeling judges too. What will fix this epidemic is the installation of a benign dictatorship... One that has compassion towards the unfortunate in our midst, one with the power to take positive action to permanently repair the damage to society. One free of self interested administrators. Build the new community. Fence it's perimeter with drug dealer proof material. The center will be an industry. Work is mandatory. Ban outsiders entry. Arrest drug dealers on sight. Get rid of those vermin. That's how we fix homelessness.

This look is all over Oregon. You can say that drugs are the real issue. Shut down the drugs and you fix most of the issues.

Make it a crime to discriminate against homeless people for being homeless and not having an address. You do not want them to fall further and be further victimized. ... Without an address there can be issues with insurance health and vehicle, bank, mobile phones, DMV and more. The simple basic things we all take for granted are sudenly denied to homeless people without an address. Even the State and County centers are unable to help with such simple things, they are alao unable to help house people or bring justice to bad landlords who commited crimes and made them homeless.

Where do you expect people to go when there IS NO affordable housing? The cops and authorities let bad landlord harm and steal from paying tenants, FORCING them into homelessness or worse.

Victim child mindset, you want handouts and free housing, if landlords are so bad why don’t you buy a house? Oh because people like you want to be bartenders their whole lives and complain they can’t get anywhere, houses in the Portland metro arnt even that expensive if you buck up and stop complaining and get a good job
