Compact tractor can be used for light construction? We have started the DIY Greenhouse build Dirt Work. Tanja is getting her greenhouse, but we must build it step by step. We used a lot of dirt to build up the greenhouse pad.

I'm days from starting a project similar project. I've got the TYM T 264 with a 60" Woods Tiller and I am going to grade the frontage on my property. It's about 300' across and I am going to till about the first 20' deeper as I get to the road and roll into the ditch. Should make cutting the grass in the ditch much safer. I hope to have quite a bit of dirt to keep on hand for other projects.

I love the kitten trying to keep up with his big buddy. Check out Living Traditions Homestead. They laid down woven ground cover several feet larger than the foot print of the green house. Keeps the weeds from growing up in and around their greenhouse from Grower's Solutions.

Tony, thanks for all the great content. I had been a fan of rock hill farms and he mentioned you and your t25 in one of his videos. I currently have a 1025r that I have quite a few implements and accessories for and use it for various things around the house to included firewood making, grass cutting and bagging, pallet fork work, snow removal and general landscaping/land management. Part of my firewood process is lifting and transporting ibc totes full of firewood. They weight roughly 1200#-1700#. The 1025r originally couldn’t do it but I bought an upgraded hydraulic pump, upgraded the stock lift cylinders, installed an adjustable diverted valve and upped the psi pressure to 2400 psi. I am now able to lift and move around the bins but I can barely get them off the ground and it requires 800# of ballast. I can tell that it is probably a little much for the tractor. I am tempted to trade in and get into a t25 without the mid mower and just buy a zero turn for mowing. I also am looking for the backhoe on the t25 as I have it for the 1025r and have felt unimpressed with it. Do you think the t25 would be enough machine for what I want to do with it? I am in and out of the woods and love the versatility of having a small tractor, just need a little more lifting power. With your tires filled, do you feel you need additional ballast if you were lifting 1500# with the forks? Thanks again for your content and I look forward to any advise you can give me.

I have owned the JD1025R. The T25 is a bigger tractor with more lift capacity. The backhoe is very capable and is noticeably stronger than the 1025r. The two tractors are different. I don't recommend a mid mount mower with the T25. You can only have one or the other; backhoe or mid mounted mower. The T25 is a little to heavy for mowing a yard in wet conditions IMO. For what I do, the T25 out performs the 1025r in almost every way, unless you are talking about mowing. The 1025r is hands down, a better mowing system referring to the mid mounted mower. I have mowed with a rear mounted finish mower with the T25. I take the loader off to reduce the weight. It is a good mower in that situation.

@@TonysTractorAdventure Would you say it most closely compares to the jd 2025r?
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure Жыл бұрын
From the specs that I see, I don't see a great improvement in list capacity on the JD 2025. It seems to be a lot more cost for very little gain.

I am needing to move 275# ibc totes of firewood a few times a year. They weigh between 1400-1600 pounds depending how green they are. I don’t need to lift them high. Just move them from point a to point b. Do you suggest that the t25 will do it or should I step up to the 2515
