I think it's the fact that they improvise the action moments to work in a more fluid setting, but keep some more eye catching key frames and poses (see luigi) to keep it feeling so faithful.

Yeah its clear that the guy who did the 3d not only is a really good storyboarder but knows how to make those rigs move like a proper cartoon.

Partially is the usage of the original as a storyboard, another thing is the usage of references, you can tell the person doing the 3D version used many Smash Bros Trailers as reference for a few shots. Still takes a very good animator to pull it off though.

I can’t believe how much extra detail was put into the 3d version. NooB. didn’t have to add all of those backround details because of how the original already had so much charm. And yet, they did it anyway. Really shows how much passion was put into this!

The airships behind Bowser in particular were a really good addition. Though some of the Egg Fleet should have been mixed in.

I think literally everyone agrees when I say: I would pay so fucking much for this guy to animate the entire series with decent voice acters. Even without any voice acting in his animations, you know people would probably just upload their own voice overs for free. This shit is so fucking good. God, the nostalgia

You know, I went into this thinking "Okay, the 3D is probably gonna look really nice, but I bet it won't capture the same personality and impressive feeling as the original did. Often, less really is more". And while it is obviously different, I have to admit that it actually got me even more hyped and probably works even better. Just gotta say: Wow

This is the best thing i've seen in the past few months. The overall quality of animation, lighting, expressiveness, all that... ah, so good. Every scene feels so dymanic, full of life and character. can't even describe, how much that impressed me. absolute masterpiece.

You can really see how spot-on the animation is when they're placed side by side. I'd say it's a pretty faithful recreation!

A mí generalmente no me gustan las animaciones 3D hechas en Internet porque no se ven muy pulidas (no hate, es simplemente por inexperiencia o falta de herramientas, que no tiene nada de malo, todos mejorarán)... Pero por Dios, ES LA MEJOR ANIMACIÓN 3D QUE HE VISTO, está TAN detallada y de ve TAN VIVA Y "SQUISHY". De verdad que yo no esperaba nada tan sorprendente, estoy impresionado
