If you are looking to buy the Pink and Main type brushes, Amazon sells a make-up brush which is the same thing but at a lower price point. I have only found the large size but they are half the price so I can buy more of them.

Thank you. I asked for, and received the long handled brushes. I do prefer the lighter enhancement on my edges. So it look like I asked for the right type.😊 I will be using colored cardstock if I want colored backgrounds. I may also want to color my diecuts, also. I wanted brushes because the finger daubers hurt my arthritic fingers. I just want to enhance the edges. And maybe using my stencils.

The adjustable collar on the Holtz brushes allows you to hold it down a bit to concentrate the bristles for more color. Scrapbook.com had domed blending sponges that work with the Holtz holders and are less apt to leave lines. I like the newer, softer brushes for softer color and no-brainer blending, but the sponges provide the biggest boost of color. I keep the Holtz for, as you say, more textured looks.

I appreciate this comparison! I have the scrapbook.com sponge heads but don’t find them much better. They leave more of an oval spot and are not very absorbent ,so oxides especially, get smeared on the cardstock.

Great comparison. I wash the round blending foams with Dawn dish soap. Most of them go back to clean, brand new looking white, no staining. The reds and purples stain the foams pink sometimes. Black Soot dyes the foam the exact color of Seedless Preserves and it's permanent.

Great video... I have a few of the Tim Holtz blenders & spare pads which I loved using, when I had to stop crafting the popular blending tool was the double ended bristle brushes and at the time I'd had to stop working so was unable to buy them but my mum had gone to a "carboot sale" and spotted a few stalls selling unused "mens shaving brushes" so she bought them for me to try out and they were actually really nice to use, they gave me the lovely textured look that you created with the double ended brushes... When I found out I was going to get my own art space I started to look at what people were using and what new techniques there were, (omgoddess there were alot🤭)and thats also how I found your channel 🤗... I noticed crafters were using the long handled makeup style brushes, and I'd been gifted a full set for the previous Christmas, I hadn't used them and they were in a lovely round stand, so I'm really looking forward to trying them out and they'll definitely have a place on my craft desk...🤗... All I need now is some of the "ink oxides" to play with... Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with all of us... Have a wonderfully creative week ahead, take care & stay safe my lovely... 💫😷🤩👩🏼‍🎨🤩😷💫

Perfect timing Rebecca! I can't get my ideas in the comments before you've already done a video on them! I've had a set of the long handled brushes in my Amazon cart off and on for a week and I keep going back and forth on the Pink & Main brushes. Kinda been going crazy!! Had not seen the Tonic or Tim Holtz brushes, but they've gone on my list as well. Thank you for pointing out the differences between all of their applications, it is very much appreciated by this newbie! I do have as many of the TH mini tools as I have ink pads which you recommended in one of your videos a while back and I love that. Can I request a video on embossing powders. I have so much trouble getting the powder to adhere and to melt no matter how much I use the little antistatic bag or the EK powder tool or how close or far away, how short or long I use the heat tool. My practice pieces turn out great, but.... well, let's just say I've ruined more than I've done successfully. Maybe it's cheap embossing powder. Does embossing powder expire? Anyway as always, thanks for all you do for us!!
@RebeccaKeppel

So glad it was helpful! An embossing powder video is a FANTASTIC idea! There are so many different kinds that are good for so many different techniques! Thank you so much for including how to clean the brushes! It looked like your cardstock stayed in place on that white mat you were using. Is that the case and, if so, will you let us know what the mat is called and where it can be purchased? Your videos are always so helpfulness!
@RebeccaKeppel
@RebeccaKeppel 3 жыл бұрын
Yes! The white mat is the Waffle Flower Water Media Mat. Since it is high grade silicone it really stays in place on your work surface AND cardstock stays in place on it! Even the little die cut heart didn’t slide around while I was ink blending on it. I have the mat linked in my supply list above. :) So glad to hear it was helpful and thanks for watching!

Cute curly hair today. I like the long handle brushes best as I always get a harsh line when using the foam pads. The big pink and main brushes are just too big IMHO.
@RebeccaKeppel
@RebeccaKeppel 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's definitely easier to blend out lines when you're using Oxides, but I agree the brushes seem to allow the smoothest lightest blend. I really only use the big Pink and Main's for full coverage, i.e. covering an entire card front. I like to do scenes so one for sky and one for grass is great for me. I do like how quickly they get the job done. :)

With the long handled and ergonomic brushes do you clean them afterwards and do you only use one brush per colour so only use one brush for the orange one for pink fire er or you clean them off to use on a different colour next time

I don't clean them much, although Pink & Main does sell a cleanser that is non toxic. I generally will buy one per color family. One for pinks, oranges, yellows and then either blend them out on paper or a micro fiber towel when changing hues.
