Have you ever wondered how your phone’s camera stacks up to a professional camera? In this week’s video, I compare the Google Pixel 7a to the Nikon Z6 from a nature photography perspective. I set out to answer 2 questions: 1) How do photos taken with the Pixel 7a compare to those taken with the Nikon Z6; and 2) Would I feel comfortable selling a photo I take with the Google Pixel 7a? I share some comparison photos taken with the Pixel 7a and the Nikon Z6 and talk about some finer details and things I learned when photographing with the Pixel 7a.

There have been a few made in the past, but typically phones are fixed aperture which is why all of your photos were f1.9

Thank you. Of the mushroom I prefer the Z6 photo. It is just more appealing to me.great detail and the bokeh are better.

I couldn't agree more! The Z6 version is how I envisioned it would look when I saw the mushroom. I just couldn't replicate that with the Pixel 7a.

Wonderful video and comparison Acacia!!👍🏻 It’s amazing how good the phone cameras are now, but I prefer the Nikon. In certain situations a phone is much more convenient, like street photos and the like. Love the shirt!!😀

Thanks Barry! It is quite amazing how good phone cameras are these days, but nothing compares to a good camera. But with a phone being so convenient, it's nice to know the limits and capabilities. And thanks! I am always down for good witty shirts. I got it from an Etsy store a couple years ago.

⁠@@AcaciaFikeNelsonOff topic: During your backyard birding, have you seen any Monarch Butterflies this year? I ask because we typically have caterpillars by now and have none. And, I’ve only seen 1 monarch this year and haven’t seen others I normally see. Very odd! Just curious about your area. Many thanks!!😀

Hi, very interesting video! I never ever use my phone to take pictures to sell! For me, my phone photos are just to show a location to my family when I'm out! Lol, I can't compare my 61 megapixel Sony to my phone! The nice thing is I normally keep my camera with me at all times. I noticed your car in the last video I commented on. I have a 2004 350z convertible! Yours a little newer than my car. I love "Z" cars! How do you sell your photos???👍👍👍

Yeah, 61 megapixels is far above and beyond any phone camera. 😂 That's awesome you also have a Z...I love mine. Just such a fun car to drive! I tried Etsy for a bit, but not much success there. I sell at a couple local artisan fairs where I have the most success. But for me the vendor fee has to be pretty minimal (less than $75). My full-time job has an annual artisan fair where I have the most success.
