Sunrise to Sunset: An Autumn Landscape Photography Adventure with the Nikon Z6

In this week’s video, we take our autumn landscape photography adventure up to the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains to photograph from Sunrise to Sunset. This fall photography expedition also includes photographing 3 waterfalls: Elk River Falls near Banner Elk, Otter Falls in Seven Devils, and we had back to Upper Falls at Linville Falls! Today I used my Nikon Z 24-70 f/4 lens and the Nikon Z 70-200mm f/2.8 lens along with my Kase magnetic polarizing filter.

I got pretty lucky with the day I went up to the mountains! The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a gorgeous drive in general, but you get a good day and it's next level. Shenandoah National Park is on my radar for one of these years! Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a fantastic day!

I often bracket instead of using graduated filters - even when handheld. The shutter speed for the sky is faster than the speed for the foreground, so camera movement between 2 shots is not a big issue. Anyway, you've got some great photos of fall in the southern Adirondacks!

My Top 7: Sunrise at Stoney Fork, Vantage Point, Autumn at Elk River Falls, Framed by Maples (would be a great print), Maple Trees, Lower Otter Falls, Autumn on the Parkway. What an awesome day you had!! You captured some absolutely beautiful Fall images from sunrise to sunset. A dream photo outing for sure. Was this around mid-October? Was the Blue Ridge Pkwy the main road to your destinations? That would be a great photo trip next year. Thanks for commenting on all the tech specs as you went along. I appreciate that!

It was an awesome day! I went out on October 19. Sunrise, Sunset, the Linville Falls, and the bridge were all along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Elk River Falls and Otter Falls were both about a 30-45 minute drive from the Parkway. The past several years, this timeframe seems to be pretty good for fall colors along the Parkway. Some higher elevations do peak sooner. It's definitely a great fall photo trip location! 👍🏻👍🏻📸🍂

@@AcaciaFikeNelson All of your fall pictures are beautiful. I took photos of that parkway bridge the same morning you went out (about 8:30 a.m.) and the sky was cloudless and bright blue. I really enjoy your videos, especially when you photograph areas that I'm familiar with, such as Linville Falls and Elk River Falls, and I also learn of places I haven't heard of that I'll go check out (Otter Falls). Keep visiting this part of the state and keep the videos coming!
