In this video, we will compare two fighter jets, one from Turkey, the Hurjet, and the other from India, the Tejas fighter jet. The Hurjet was still in the design process, but manufacturing began this year. On the other hand, the Tejas is a fully operational aircraft that has been integrated into the Indian Air Force.

3 tejas flew non stop from india to Singapore covering 3300 km with 2 external fuel tanks. The range here was foe ioc 1 variant . Tejas foc has a vastly improved range.

I think the directions of the use of Tejas and Hurjet is completely different that's why the comparison can not be matched, clrealy the Tejas is made with the intention of being 2nd in line fighter or ground attack so it has to be close a large 4 generation fighter in role while the Turkish Hurjet is made to be advanced trainer and light attack support that's why it doesnt need to have higher payload or higher ceiling.

False Equivalence drawn. Tejas is already equipping 2 squadrons of Indian Airforce with 4000+ flight hours without a single accident, with BVR capabilities like Astra Mk-I, Astra MK-II and Meteor, while Hurjet is still on paper.

@@wokerocks mbda refused to integrate meteor with israeli or indian sensors. It is totally understandable. And no tegas mk 2 will have f414 engine . Indian indigenous engine not going to be operational before a decade at least. And this is if the deal with safran can be made soon.

The Tejas fighter jet is currently not based in the 'forward' areas along the border with Pakistan and China. But during standoff with China in 2020, Tejas LCAs of the No. 45 Squadron (Flying Daggers) were deployed by the Indian Air Force on the western front close to the Pakistan border. They took part both daytime and night operations. After the second Tejas LCA squadron is completed - in a few months, both squadrons will be deployed in forward air bases.

The hurjet has the same design as the T7A for both the main wing and the horizontal tail wing, so wing lock occurs early when the aircraft ascends.

And for all the fellow Indian enthusiasts we all did compare Tejas with all the possible fighters including F-16s, Mirage 2000s, the gripens , Jf-17 etc. So be proud that Tejas has seta milestone. Coz you can only compare a developing product against the one that has succeeded. So there's nothing wrong in comparing. May the Hurjet is better or may be not but it's worth comparing it with the likes of something that's successful in the class which is what is being done.

In same manner the modern LCAs are often compared or debated against Tejas. In simple terms I meant Tejas has set a benchmark for other fighters of its class

The Hurjet was designed as a light attack aircraft and trainer, not a fighter. The fighter jet designed by Turkey is the 5th generation TF-X model.

And the fighter developed by India is the AMCA. And it's not 5th gen. It's 5.5 gen. Almost 6. With electronic and drone swarm capabilities. It's basically a better and cheaper F35.

By the way the India is developing Tejas also called LCA with foreign support since the 1990s. So nearly 30.years. Hurjet dates back to 2017, just five years. That is the difference.

BTW Arjun performs better than T90 (Russia's MBT until 5 years ago) so it's definitely a huge success. What India needs is choppers and jets. India's LCH chopper is the chopper with the highest service ceiling of any combat chopper on earth. Don't compare Tejas with Hurjet. Tejas has already been in service for years and India is making billion dollar deals with the Phillippines, Argentina and Malaysia for exports while the Hurjet doesn't even exist yet. And by the time Hurjet gets put into service, India will have Tejas Mk2 and even the AMCA. And if things go ahead of schedule, India might even have the TEDBF too by that time.

May I ask where you learned the price of Hürjet? Even the head of TAI refrained from giving prices in all programs. How did you determine this price? I guess it will be a much lower selling price than the price you mentioned. By the way, HÜRJET was originally designed as a training aircraft. Turkey's fighter jet project called TFX continues. No need for unnecessary comparisons.

@@europeanunion8156 Turkish technology is far behind when it comed to building bigger weapons, they only build small scale weapons which too is technology borrowed from NATO. Their drones we have all seen are extremely capable targets for testing SAM's as is evident in the Russia-Ukraine conflict 😂. Turkey claims to have a massive shipbuilding industry yet hasnt been able to build a frigate till date lest a destroyer. On the other hand India's shipbuilding industry doesnt not match that of Turkey's yet we have built and are building world class destroyers and aircraft carriers, not to mention our missile technology is fathoms ahead of Turkey. Turkey is still 10-15 years behind India in the defence sector. Projecrs such as Hurjet and TFX are merely a PR campaign, all of which will take time to materialize. Plus, given Turkey's current financial condition, I am not gonna bet big on them materializing any time soon.

@@udaykumariitr3253 no. partnership means, they will produce the jet jointly and sell it to another country too, not just for malaysia. just like the turkish kaplan medium tank that jointly build in indonesia but also can be sell to another country, not just for indonesian. but, let's say you are right, it just limited for malaysia only, then after the hurjet, malaysia doesn't need turkish engineers for maintenance, they can maintains it themselves, and they also might build their own jet with the knowledge they got from the turk

@@udaykumariitr3253 if they start from zero, yes it will takes minimum 15 years for malaysia. but they got turkey, and turkey is not a beginner, they're involves in the f35 program since 1999, specially with software programs. that's why usa kick them out of the program after s400, because software is pretty much the most important thing to f35 to maintain its steals. turkey can upgrade their own f16 right now, but usa don't allow it because it must upgraded by usa it self for they want more money upgrading services. and hrjet is not as complicated as f16 or even f35, so i think the hurjet will be ready in 7 years

If I were the one taking the decision to procure the jet for Malaysia, I would have chosen Tejas over Hurjet, 1. More power to weight ratio 2. Higher Payload capacity 3. Larger variety of weapons Top speed or range don't matter much as in the Arial combat no one goes to the limits, however the higher power to weight ratio of Tejas enables it to regain the energy and speed quicker than Hurjet

@@azizklc9734 First of all I think you meant JF 17 and not J17. JF17 do you really think Hurjet is in JF17 class? In that case JF17 has already been rejected by Malaysian Air Force. I think Hurjet is better than JF17. JF17 is 4th Generation Tejas is 4.5 generation aircraft. Tejas has an accident less record of flying. JF17 has crashed so many times. As far as Hurjet is concerned it is yet to fly.

Tejas is the best. It has an integrated system to restart engine if it fails during flight. If the engine doesn't start it will glide back to it's base and land like a helicopter.

The friend who made this comparison made a mistake. Tejas is an aircraft designed as a main fighter aircraft, it is an aircraft designed as a hurjet training and light attack aircraft. It is not possible to compare the two aircraft, they are both separate class aircraft.

Nope.. tejas itself was designed as a lighter fighter aircraft not main fighter. For that IAF use Su-30mki. Tejas-S is used as a trainer.

@@sahilnegi4071 Tejas will be the "main fighter" lol. 123 of them is the second largest fleet of the IAF after the Su-30MKI. Further the Su-30MKI has maintainability issues with availability rates of around 60%. Tejas has an availability rate of over 90%. It will be the backbone of the IAF.

Turkey made urgent production of this aircraft for temporary use at low cost. Turkey's fighter jet "TFX" fifth generation fighter jet will make its first flight in 2023. If you compare it with TFX, you will see your jet, TFX will win by far.

Doesnt seem fair to compare Tejas with Hurjet. Both seem to be made with different priorities in mind. Tejas seems more oriented for fighting and hence more capable as a light fighter. Hurjet still in developmental stage so dont know how it will finally turn out as. But as an Indian, proud that India has produced a capable aircraft with great degree of indigenization.

@Erencan Ayhan Whether recoloured or not - that's you personal opinion. The Tejas wouldn't have taken design cues from the single-seater Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. Like the A-4, it does have a delta [Δ] wing, but then so does the French Mirage. (Indian Air Force has had the Mirage 2000, which was inducted into the French Air Force in 1984, since 1985.)

Tejas has more hard points 8 (hurjet 6) to carry missiles and can carry almost double weight of weapons. Tejas has stronger engine, more speed, functional at extreme height compared to hurjet, enhanced radar, smaller cross section on enemy radar and is made to be compatible with a lot of international missiles whereas hurjet doesn't have many weapon package because it is not even tested now whereas tejas has proven itself many times. And despite all these features, tejas is 20% cheaper. and the entire world knows that india is an ally that always support its friends. And buying jets will enhance that friendship with india. What can you expect from FATF grey listed turkey? And India will soon have 5 and 5.5 gen AMCA which will be one of the greatest fighter jets in the world.
