My local community is getting into this game and adding to the old guards who have been keeping this game going. Its always really well regarded when i see it played and your videos have been super helpful as Im doing my research, especially your faction breakdown. I would love to see an updated legendary legions review video to help me with my first faction decision. Keep up the good work.

Really enjoyed the game. The captions were very helpfull and the players comments between rounds were so interesting. Love to see more of these style shows.

Love the added rules info in the edit. I’ve not been playing long but Minis Tirith and iron hills are just so strong and hard to kill it seems like they’re super competitive

The rules tips here are great for a beginner, much appreciated.

From my Experience Halls of Thranduil is the most competitive. 100% Bows is strong. Tauriel and Thranduil are still way undercosted for what they do. The Elven Cav are still really cheap for how strong they are. And Palace guard with Thranduil are the one of the best infantry in the game. F6, Str5, Defence 6, Auto passing Courage, Terror 6" with the circlet of Kings. All for 13 points a piece. These will mincemeat even elves. Also the allies options are really solid, Dwalin on goat is super strong, Gandalf with Laketown brings magic, and support, and raises numbers. Overall just a really solid army.

Remember to use Sharkus special rule, maybe could've gotten a kill at around 25:10. He gets a free Strength 4 strike whenever a failed strike is made against him! Great batrep regardless, love the cutaway interviews too! No other MESBG channel I've seen is doing that, sets you apart from the pack in a good way :)

Fantastic battle report thank you so much. Keep in mind tho, that banner can only be used BEFORE might. The dale army player in at least a couple of occasions used the banner after Isengard had mighted to win the fight. In both cases the banner was not enough so no big deal

Very well constructed battle report. Great job. Love the cut away explanations of tactics and the steady camera work. Really liked the shots of movement too. The movement phase is super important in this game so it's great to see it in a batrep. You guys are becoming my favorite SBG channel 👍

Also as for your “tactical blunder spell” - transfix on a 4+, but Saruman has sorcerous blast for 4+ too that would have knocked prone (so basically transfixed) and a cheeky sound opportunity ;) wouldn’t normally point it out - but you did ask :)

Personally my most competitive faction is Moria. They have got heaps of good things going for them. Cheap troops, good middle range heroes, and heaps of synergies like Groblog potentially getting prowlers to fight 5, and cave trolls with bat swarms being a higher fight than anything in the game

Top notch Batrep I'm absolutely in love with my Dale army they rarely let me down. (Those bows!!!!!). In Mesbg the most competitive army is definitely the one you enjoy playing the most.

I think Angmar is the most competitive from what I've seen.

Just subscribed to the channel good to see some middle earth content being made. I think the game is actually in a good place with many armies that could be all viable in a competitive setting. For me personally I like mordor lots of cheap casters backed up by a hard hitting hero like shagrat also good selection of troops and shelob is for me point for point one of the best units in the game. Prove me wrong 🕷

I like my iron hills and thranduils halls lists, both have good strong heroes! Use the dwarves for the shield wall and palace guard for spear support, theres a lot they can take on and hold up against! Only problem with them is they eat up your points for giving you a low model count

I really like the look of the Turquoise Uruk-Hai.

I'm not sure how supported this is for the numbers but everyone talks about Faramir's legion and Rangers are super overpowered in the 300-450 range. Well if you built a Dol Amroth army at that points level focused on maxing out numbers of archers with Duinhir that's a pretty lethal shooting group and a good pike block. I ran no Imrahil for a while and Forming is super under-rated on horse. So my proposal? Furlong on Horse, Duinhir, a pike block and Rangers. You maximize Duinhirs heroic shoots for the re-rolls and keep your shooting base still. You get 2 turns of rerolling 1's to hit and re-rolling all wounds. You can deal crazy damage with that and then you still get a nice mounted hero in Forlong and a good pike block

I don't think it's the most competitive list, but I gravitate towards Isengard most of the time (always with Saruman).

Even if saruman was behind those crates on horseback, there should still be an in the way from the crates even if its covering the model even by the smallest amount as far as im aware.

I stand by Rohan - mounted royal guard avoids low courage low def issues and hero’s to wreck stuff :)

When saruman was shot at behind the boxes, should there not have been a in the way test on the boxes? Line of sight is 3D but in the way tests are done 2D?

I have to say that I really like the rules explanations showing up during the game at the bottom, so it doesn't distract from the flow of the game. Still trying to be constructive, I'm not sure why, but the face-to-camera confessions(?) that explain what's going on seem a bit off. Not sure why? Might be how it interrupts the flow? I'm not really sure. Overall these BR are still very good!

23:32 Newbie here, so just doing a quick rule check. Thorin wounded the Uruk Captain the turn prior. Then during this turn Sean rolled his first round, and got a wound. Doesn’t that kill the Captain? Or does he have 3 wounds? Sean rolls again and kills him anyways, but was wondering if the wound the prior turn was missed.

Can’t really go past Theoden’s Riders for my top. Although realistically Rivendell Knights are stupid good.

Question in regards on grima: why didn't you deploy him with thor or thorin making it impossible for him to strike at him and it would have made it impossible for thorin to withstand the compell of Saruman potentially killing thorin with the bomb to. I just think that deploying grima as part of the enemy with his rule is just so strong and should be the way too go in nearly every battle I think.
