We are excited to continue this series of featuring the variety of adjustments on all of our chairs and today we look at Steelcase's V2 Think Chair.

Adjustment Breakdown
Height Adjustment
1. Pull height adjustment lever up to move the chair up or down to whichever position fits you best
Seat Slider Adjustment
1. While standing move up the lever underneath the seat and pull the seat away from the back or towards the back to fit your preference.
Back Tension and Recline Adjustments
1. For the 1st position rotate the knob on you right as you are sitting counter clockwise all the way and that will give you weight pressured adjustment so you can recline without hinderance.
2. For the 2nd position rotate the knob 1 click clockwise from 1st position, this will add tension when you lean back in the chair but you still have full motion.
3. The 3rd Position is a back stop and that only allows you to recline half way back.
4. For the 4th position rotate the knob one more time clockwise and that will lock the back of your chair in place and will completely restrict all recline features.
Arm Adjustments
1. Each arm has its own button underneath the arm pad, press this to change the height of each arm for the best comfortability.
2. The fully functional 4d arms is an add on to the chair and may not be included in the chair you purchase. The 4d arms can swivel side to side and front to back for the most amount of options.
Lumbar Adjustment
1. The chair has a pad that is fixed into the seat and is not removable. The lumbar can be moved by placing a hand on each side and moving it up and down.
Note: The lumbar in the lowest point is a neutral position and does not effect the back in this position.

Hey Dave thanks for the video! Do you know if theres a way to re-tighten the back tension on a used think chair? I just bought a used one and noticed that even in the lock position for the back rest there seems to be more than usual movement, thanks!

Unfortunately there's no way that I know of. The Think has quite a bit of play and flex in the back even brand new.

Hello, I’m looking for a taller cylinder on my think v2. I’m wanting to increase my sitting height by 2-3 inches. I’m not seeing think v2 specific cylinders on the website, will the leap v2 cylinders be compatible?

I bought the Think Chair about 1 month+ back and my back is feeling funny/weird when resting on the chair. With the additional lumbar support set at the maximum height, sometimes my back feels comfortable, sometimes it's killing my back. I don't know what's wrong and my sitting posture is pretty standard . It's so puzzling that the back rest can feel so drastically different on the same chair. Any pointers on how to adjust the additional lumbar support (or set it down at the lowest height and ignore it) or how my sitting posture can be potentially wrong?

I'm about 6 months in and my back is in terrible pain, there is no adjustment on this chair I can make that is comfortable for me. I had my old Ikea Markus chair for many years before this and never had a problem, just thought that this would be more confortable but boy was I wrong.

@@Pixelationist . Me too. This chair was a massive waste of money. I have several complaints but the main one is that the back rest is NEVER comfortable. The chair DOES NOT lock into place causing me to extend my neck forward while I work. I also massively dislike the hard as concrete seat cushion and the useless arm rests. I hate this damn chair.

Hi Dave, thanks for the video! As a 250 pounds guy, which one should I choose between Steelcase Series 1 & Think v2? ($ is not a problem)

What are the differences between Think V1 and V2? And when V2 was introduced?

Functionally they are very similar, the primary differences in the change were aesthetic, but they did upgrade the seat quite a bit on the V2 in my opinion - it's more of a standard padded seat vs the thinner pad over the mesh wire on the V1. They made the switch the V2 Think in 2015 I believe.

I hate this damn chair. The seat cushion is too damn hard for sitting on more than one hour at a time, the arm rests are also too hard and very limited in adjustment so they never sit right, and the back rest WILL NOT LOCK into place causing me to extend my neck forward while I work. This chair was a massive waste of money for me.
