COMPLETE Brake Overhaul (Calipers, Project Mu Pads, Fluid) with Lateral Runout On A Lexus RC F

Swapping 2015 black calipers to orange OEM calipers (first offered 2016). Loaded with new brake hardware, Project Mu PS pads. Rotors replaced with OEM. Fluid bleed and flushed with Motul 600 racing fluid.
Bleeding (not recorded) was performed with corners furthest to closest to the brake cylinder.
1. Right Rear
2. Left Rear
3. Right Front
4. Left Front
During installation, we will be checking for lateral runout (OEM spec limits) to ensure there will be no pulsations down the road.
Also, taking a look at the low dust performance on PMU pads.

My man! Great job! That must have been a long day. But at the end of the day, you have the knowledge and confidence that the job was complete and done right, and that's a good feeling. I actually researched those brake pads before I purchased my F. I was trying to do my due diligence on a few service items before I made that move. I like the F calipers, may have to check out a set. Thanks fam, pretty long day between the taping and runout testing. I honestly hate texting for runout, but I always get peace of mind doing so. Worth it in the long run for sure. I do enjoy the PS pads. I think it was a good choice. Does have a slight squeal when cold, but that was to be expected when buying. Thanks for watching man. As a Ravens fan, and a fan of Polamalu, I’ll allow it lol.

New set up looks great! How do you like the project mu pads? Better stopping power than oem? Is ghere less brake dust?

Appreciate it! They’re a very good pad. Much better bite than OEM, and virtually no dust compared to OEM. Don’t have to clean the wheel for months now. When I do, it’s just a light film that you don’t notice until you clean it.

11:43 slightly old video, but you gotta make sure you grease the pads! If you haven't already done so, definitely take them off asap and grease them. I don't run Project Mu pads, but I can't think of a single brake manufacturer that would advise against standard operating procedure greasing.

It’s funny you say that. For that segment I definitely loaded the entire caliper without the shim or grease. Had to unload to put the grease and shims back on. 100% a must. Great catch. Thanks for watching!

Do you have any scraping issues with your front splitter? Definitely looks better with one on.

Appreciate it! I’m lowered so very seldom issues with scraping since I also have air cups in the front. But I rarely need to use them to clear the lip. Get some bumper guards for the lip. The under scraping cannot be seen overtop regardless though.

How are the pads? minimal dust? pedal feel?

I really like them. Still minimal dust like shown on the video. Due to the increased bite, it doesn’t require as much pressure on the brake to have the same stopping power, which I love. Braking is butter, and has a LOT of stopping power. I never had to lockup/engage ABS during normal driving. I highly recommend them.

I just bought a GSF would you recommend swift springs or the coilovers. And do the coilovers ride as smooth as the factory

Highly recommend always doing coils when possible. They’re engineered to work together. Changing stroke length of OEM struts using a spring will typically lead to more premature failure. Once that happens, you’ll get coils anyway. Or have to rebuild with labor the OEM setup for failure again. Buy once, cry once. They are stiffer than OEM and more performance oriented.
