I didn't see the rebar before I started commenting. That changes everything. You need a hot saw to cut the rebar as you go alone. You got good at the end with that machine. Fun to watch

I like how it's 2:30pm at 8:18 in the video and then one minute later on the same recording or 9:20 in the video it's now 4:00pm.

Only thing we ever use our breaker for is curb removal at the street and large staircases we cant lift. I can tear out a 60x30 driveway with rebar in it with just our t190 or t590 and a set of forks and partner saw in about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Mind you that is solo demo. When having a co-worker stand by with the saw and dump truck ready it shouldn't take more than an hour. Then again ive been pouring and tearing out concrete for almost 20 years. Also adding that in your case it would have been easier to play with a breaker for a few hours instead of knowing from experience what is most efficient. Plenty of ways to skin a cat where i'm from. You sir have my respect in the since that the machine and task does not scare you. I wish more homeowners would do their own dirty work.

normally you just chop saw sections that your Skidsteer can lift. and that also avoids the rebar hanging on the next piece. This job didn't require a hammer.

you guys should look up drop hammers. they are easier on the hydraulic pump and on the pivot pins. we can tear out 800 sq ft in about 2 hrs including drive time to the dump.

The easiest way to break it up is to hit it in the saw cut spots and pop it up then Load it into your truck in slabs

True. But not if it's reinforced concrete, watch the video and you'll see our attempt at this and unfortunately it didn't go as planned. We had to redo our holes all across the driveway to break-up around rebar. This made it easier to lift the concrete out using a high volume bucket.

I'm a groundworker, we had a job roughly about that size and it was pretty much in the middle of nowhere and a hydronic pipe went on my machine breaker, I had to get a petrol hand breaker whilst my bud put pressure under the concrete with a grading bucket to make it breack easier. Thankfully it wasn't reinforced but it was as deep. That was a hard day lol

I use a skidsteer for driveway removals too. because of my dump trailers. I need 2ft chucks or it beats up the trailers. dig out the dirt at the end of the driveway about two feet back. then hammer 2ft chunks and when the concrete breaks flip the hammer forward and you will get nice clean chunks. Should only take about 30 minutes to break it all up, then put the bucket on and start loading. That hammer was weird, you should be able to put all the down pressure you want without it making any difference. The hammer should of been hitting way faster than that with such a big machine When you pound holes it leaves a lot concrete crums to pick up. I love driveway replacements

I think it was there first time doing this, I think they got the hang of it by the end. I agree though on your usage but they were combatting reinforced concrete so I think it needed to be small bits by the end.

Hey there! We were using a HD Berlon bucket: www.skidsteersolutions.com/hd-construction-bucket-attachment-berlon-industries/ Then at the end after we realized we were going against rebar reinforced concrete we started breaking up the pieces real tiny and scooping them up with a bucket. It's actually much easier than if they were in slab form.

Amazing that the Korean white machine company is so stupid that they do not want free advertising. While the US legal system is corrupt and inept I am not aware of any successful lawsuits because someone used a particular piece of equipment for a video demonstration. Might as well locate a vintage machine which is out of production.

I know what you mean. Years ago I helped a local attachment maker design and build attachments like one of the first pole saws and auger bit for grinding stumps. Even appeared in his demonstration videos without pay. He was put out of business by a frivolous patent suit. Of course he still made and sold custom attachments for cash til he retired. As for me I only buy used equipment and fix it myself, and never put back factory decals on anything I paint.

Did you rent that dump truck or do you own it? I have a similar project to do but perhaps a little more extensive and there's going to be a high-cost in dumpster. renting a dump truck might be cheaper in the sense that it can be loaded directly and maybe not so much of a weight restriction for a canister that has to be picked up

If you had forks why not just use them from the get go to remove it? Been operating for a concrete company for 5 years and never had the jack hammer attachment always just used forks from the get go to take it out much more time efficient and comes out in big pieces as well.

@SkidSteerSolutions Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment, we appreciate the feedback. Different jobs call for different things, some forks would not be rated for this, some people don’t want to damage their forks, and some people may need it to be broken up into smaller pieces. In case other people would like an attachment for it, we offer the solution :)

Nugglashine We didn’t know it was reinforced concrete. Had we known there was rebar, the proper technique would have been to make the breaker holes closer together using the tools we had available. Thanks for your comment, we learned a lot from this project and it’s always fun to take the tools out and show our customers how they can be used (not always perfect or proper though haha) Do you have a concrete breaker? This guy has no idea what he’s doing. You start on the very edge of the concrete break a piece off and push it so it creates another edge to break off. The concrete needs room to break. I can break up a driveway that size in less than an hour with the same set up. You don’t just punch holes LOL. I do concrete demo for a living, do this every day.

The other guy is operating the skid stir loading up trucks that’s how you get production done what this guy is doing is child’s play just to make hours to make more money. In other words, waste of time and money

Did you watch the whole video? It talks about what we learn as we go. This isn't an instructional video, it's a demonstration of a real DIY project. It turned out fine in the end - DIYers with no experience in concrete tool work aren't going to just tear their driveway out without research, hopefully they see this video and learn from it. We are happy to report that the new driveway is great! :D Thanks for your comment.
