Cameron Robert shows the full process of building an example Welcome Journey in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
The walkthrough includes building a signup CloudPage, triggering the Journey, building the Journey Emails, and building the Journey Canvas.
Note: A CloudPage should not be used as a signup source for a Journey. It is only used in this walkthrough to demonstrate how a signup form could function on a typical brand website using the Marketing Cloud REST API to trigger the Welcome Journey.

Hi Cameron, in simple words can you explain how did you setup the update contact activity for suppression, also, can you explain how would the contacts get suppressed? I'm trying to understand how this suppression process works. Thank you!

Hi Cameron, The Script tag itself is not working in code. I did try to comment out all the things and still it is not working. I did try to copy your code and make it work still it is giving error. I am not sure how to debug. Any help on this , Please.

Hi Cameron! My question is, why you didn't use DE as entry source at Journey Builder? I'm new at SFMC, so sorry if this question is silly!

You can do a DE entry source; however I chose the SF entry source for this example. I’ll cover the DE entry in another video 🙂

His video Get all subscribers in a journey shows how to set up a data view automation that pulls journey data from a specific journey into a data extension. To pull all journeys in, all you need to do is not specify a JBDefinitionID and it will pull in data from all journeys for the last 6 months.

Many companies choose to suppress customers who are in their welcome journey to ensure they receive a complete onboarding experience before being exposed to their always on marketing. This is normally to ensure a new customer understands how the business works and to educate them on what to expect from their marketing emails. There are pros and cons to doing this, and it will depend on your industry and business. The best way to decide is ask yourself "Do I need to educate new customers before exposing them to the content in our always on emails?" or "Would a new subscriber understand everything in our always on emails without being introduced to our brand first?"
