To anyone complaining about me being "salty" or "bitching". Of course I'm going to rage when I spend several hours stuck on the same mission due to bugs. It's a frustrating experience, and just because a mod is hard doesn't mean it's above criticism when it's simply unfair. Bear in mind this was done on a very early patch of the mod. It has now been updated several times since, and the missions are much more doable now. I'm only human, I'm going to get pissed off. If this episode is unwatchable, then episode 4 will be back to "normal". :)

Was looking forward to this video, but you just seemed so bitter towards everything after doing the dodo challenge. It's almost like you forgot that you're playing a more challenging version of GTA3 the way you were complaining about things.

Jesus Ben, the whole mission to kill Sal is to get on the building opposite and kill him with a rifle. It doesn't quite work if you rock up, flags flying , guns blazing, and then you go "WHY'S IT DIFFERENT?" The strat is to get in the alley opposite, fight people, to the intended balcony, and kill salvatore. It's literally how you do the mission properly. You have all the time to figure the strat out, cos unless you only do the speedrun route, it's HOW YOU DO THE MISSION. Fucksake.

At the end, how the guy died (from the looks of it): At 58:38 when the prison transport crashes into the pole and you get out, he also gets out. Presumably, he's behind the van when the FBI car crashes into you since you can briefly see a body under the truck at 58:43. I assume the flipped FBI car crushes and kills him when you run back to your cop car. This is such a wild ride.

Salty Ben is prime kino. Probably the most entertaining episode in the series.

Big Dodo flight tip: Never pitch up! If you want to ascend, pitch down slightly as it gives you conversely more energy than you should gain from descending. Meaning you will start climbing after declining slightly a few times!

The RNG nature of GTA 3 is part of the thematic through line of its narrative. In other words you just killed a hundred Traid members and now there are consequences for those actions. Given it's central themes of gangsterism and survivalism in a post-modern context it fits. Claude is reaping what he has sowed so to speak.

Been waiting excitedly for this one! I'm really enjoying this playthrough so far. Also, I agree with the points you were making during Uzi Rider. I still like the mod, but I also thought popped tires sounds like less fun and more bullshit for no reason. The long drive you have to do to redo the mission didn't make it better. I understand that this playthrough is slightly old now, so my hope is that these issues have been somewhat remedied since.

Edited this way, I can see why it can come across as being critical. However, the creator was in chat and obviously took the criticisms on board, even if they were influenced by hours of play experience. You carried on despite this and it's still given us a video and an updated patch. Win win!

I think cutting out long drives even with a worse car, would still be more fun than being given a fast car and having to make the drive.

Which version of the mod are you playing? I am playing 1.6 and uzi rider has a red/brown colored cartel cruiser (a yardie cruiser u see) as the car and it skips to the portland and starts at the portland at the start of the mission.

Hey Ben, I hope you are doing well. I love watching your content. But, this is the most British bitching behaviour. Snap out of it. It's fun and also entertaining watching you use your skills to beat these tough challenges. But, the complaining is very off putting. Patience is key. Anger management is also self control. I've gone from being a "rage at almost anything" person, to the person who will stay calm even at the most frustrating moments. It took me years but I eventually did it. As a viewer; I come to watch your videos to offload the daily pressing tasks I've done throughout my day. Watching your satisfying gameplay and have a good laugh at your funny moments. This is nice and helps me mentally. Sorry to have complained. With how good your content is; I had to mention it and get it of my chest. Carry on doing well and thrive at it. Your gameplay is unique and amazing. You are the only GTA 3, VC and SA player I watch. I'm totally on Ben's side on this one. All the previous missions were well designed, almost like a different game. But these recent missions are using the same gimmick: Annoying cops. It would make sense in the original GTA3 to go for the less guarded alleyway, but get real here...If they don't spot you, Sal will not come out in the first place, and then what do you do at the ventage point? Exactly. It's easy to give these bs advices, but go and try to beat this without getting angry. I bet you that will never happen. Chill the f out.

This mod is way too ambitious for GTA3. There are so many issues with the original game, but the simpler missions didn't push the game beyond its limits. The things that they added in the mod to make the missions more challenging aren't designed around these limitations and it only exacerbates problems. Trying to deal with bad car physics and enemy gangs is not fun with stricter time limits and more arbitrary fail conditions. It's really baffling that they decided to put their effort towards bringing back the most annoying mechanic in later games instead of the improvements from said games. (There's not even an ingame map for god's sake.) Also you should NEVER make the player use the Dodo in any mission because it will always be horrible. Flying that thing in this game requires an arbitrary skill set that's not needed for the rest of the game which takes a lot of trial and error, and there's so many ways to fall even if you do know how to fly it. It's just a bad gimmick. Anyways, it seems the mod has been updated a lot since this video came out so I hope the issues have been addressed, but to be quite frank, it's hard to make a challenge mod fun, especially with a game like this.
