Well done Lagos state Governor for commissioning this 21st Century travel hub. Also well done to the architects, engineers and builders involved in development. Years ago I used to pass through Oshodi on my way to school and experienced chaos, but was always safe and enjoyed speaking to the vendors who did a great job selling items people needed e.g second hand text books, comics and snacks. Actually made friends with the vendors who where interesting examples of micro-entrepreneurs. I dare say some of them are likely to be in big business today. Great example of infrastructure development along with an economic model. Hope there is an indoor mall/ market facility where vendor retailers can sell their goods. This will also generate revenue for the state to re-invest and develop further infrastructure. Just so impressed with Lagos leading on mass infrastructure development, good governance and compliance. Love Lagos.

I live in the US and there are bus stations everywhere, especially in large States like Texas and Florida, but none is like this in Oshodi. I understand we need train stations in Lagos; considering the size of the state in relation to its population, hence the heavy traffic flow. Lagos is like New York, small but jam-packed, where the best option to moving people is via a subway train system. We'll get there.

That's why, there's bus lane all around d 5 boroughs especially Manhattan, you see buses navigating btw NJ to NY, BXM, QX, BM, SIM buses everytime. I think taking a step at a time will help Nigeria. Finally someone is using their brain. They can call this whatever they like, it is a hub! Hubs are large nodes in a distribution network fed by smaller nodes and channels. Without the other parts of a distribution network being revamped, revamping a hub alleviates nothing! Ok, you depart from this "interchange", to and through where? Same bad and congested roads will have to be plied, same bus stops will have to be used. Will all lagosian teleport themselves to the interchange to get a bus? No, you will get your bus at your stop. It may pass through the interchange or it may not. Does it reduce the amount of buses on the road? If so, by how much? How much time does it save at Oshodi alone? This is what is known as a white elephant project! Ambode should have completed the lagos badagry rail and not this massive waste of money! Lagos needs rail!! Now, be cynics, be skeptics and ask yourselves why were more crucial projects not completed? Projects that could actually boost Lagos' IGR, decongest lagos' roads, as well as transport more people faster throughout the length of the state in a greener more efficient manner? Well, the cynic in me will say "contracts initiated by a governor are easier to profit from (in cash or reputation) by said governor".

There are successful states all over Nigeria and there are bigger States that are beautiful and clean. Lagos only stands out because it's popular and it played a good role in the African history (trans Atlantic slave trade) the Nigerian history (former capital) and the Yoruba history (Eko market where the people of Owu sold their slaves before they were wiped out). Great Job by the Lagos state government and kuddos to the engineers and contractors seeing to the completion of this wonderful project. My fear, however, is how skywalks would soon be overcrowded by roadside sellers and beggars. It's a Lagos thing and I really hope they have plans to counter that

The problem isn't the creation in Nigeria. The problem is maintenance...a maintenance mindset. Then security will also be important. Probably Some foreign training of the police force. They need to be on point regarding this project otherwise it will be the center of all kinds of criminal activity. Which will end up being a big international joke.

This is a good step in the right direction. buti hope they work on the maintenance. Power too should be considered. they talk about predicting bus arrival. it shouldnt be called predict. if the system is right the bus arrival time should be accurate, they need to solve traffic control problem. but the world is moving past this... trains and trams should be considered

Limited IGR in those states is a factor. You can't compare what Lagos state generate to others. But mind you, those other states contribute to servicing Lagos economy indirectly as the state would have imposed its own excise on imported materials before they get distributed to other states. But by and large, Lagos has more firms that service her economy than those of other states.

I have seen this project I want to suggest that it is high time we have state of the art maintenance firms in Nigeria were they will give quality workmen jobs for all jobs like plumbing, electrical, tiling and finishing services if possible the Lagos state government can partner with foreign firms first to achieve these then the government should have a body under the ministry of works and ministry of internal affairs to run the general public assessment program in respect to maintenance

This is a good project from the governor, but Lagos's population needs subway(train) now not buses terminals. Governor should spend Lagos's money wisely on project that would be evergreen or last for century. Check Istanbul city, London, and New York City, they use subway (train) to reduce traffic on the road and save time of the passengers.

so, neglecting the terrible stay land transport is!? you should suggest that other form of transport should be develop to compliment one another. Decongestion might never happen. Nice Lagos is developing and other states are still sleepy thinking president would come from Abuja and develop their states for them. But why this Nigeria people de always refer to their projects as the one of of it kind in Africa? have observe this several times it makes me worry if those people actually travel out of Nigeria at all. Have you not see kenya bus terminal ? far better than Nigeria International airport just google and see. Secondly Why would APC kick out one of the best working governor in Nigeria currently if not the best? I don't get it.. Ambode has been working since he asume office yet they kick him out turn against him because of Godfather-ism and lagosian supported them I hope the new governor will work better tho.
