I never have tried them but that style is just not for me. I have great respect for those that do use them, (DIY Sportsman for example used one a few years back in his hunting videos) but using a peep allows for the front sight aperture and rear sight aperture to be as far away from each other as possible. Ask any rifleman and they'll tell you that'll lead to better rifle accuracy, and the same is true for a bow.

Nick Anderson Think of it like a rifle. Rifles have a front sight and a back sight to line up together. The peep is basically a rear sight picture. You can go peepless, but even the guys that do still have a solid anchor and string reference point. So, effectively, they have a rear sight picture as well. Good luck!

+Nick Anderson I wanted a natural sight picture and form. I removed my peep. But what I did do was I tied on a piece of glowing fishing wire to make a small bead on the bow string. I was only using the peep to center my pin housing anyway, not the pins themselves. So loosing the peep didn't affect my accuracy at all, so long as I keep the little glowing bead in the same place. My head angle is a little more natural at draw as I actually have to look to the left of the string now, not through it. But if I was a keen indoor target archer, a small aperture peep would be the choice. Hunting is its own world and needs different solutions. As AJA pointed out, the idea of putting max distance between the two sight references cannot be beat or worked around and is the best in ideal conditions.

A tubed peep would 100% rectify the problem. Especially if you shoot an older bow that requires a more D750 based string. They'll stretch and cause peep rotation for a long time.
