Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Alcohol Ink art, as we take inspiration from the iconic style of Piet Mondrian in this 2-hour step-by-step tutorial. Whether you're an experienced artist or new to the medium, this guide offers a unique approach to harnessing the power of these vivid inks, transforming them into structured yet fluid works of art.
We'll delve into the first of two distinct methods of creating precise lines, inspired by Mondrian's geometric simplicity and striking use of color. This video is an exploration of control within the inherently unpredictable nature of alcohol inks - a balancing act of chaos and harmony.
Don't forget, this is just the beginning! We've got another method coming your way in an upcoming video that further expands on these techniques. Get ready to unlock new realms of creativity and push the boundaries of what you thought possible with Alcohol Inks.

If you left your glue on too long, try using a heat gun to reactivate the fluidity of the glue again.

Loving all your videos and I'm a follower. This an awesome piece of art you have created! I kept waiting through the video for you to do something with the negative white space in the top right corner. Guess it has to do with composition. Loved the using of black glue to section off the piece! I have retired and ordered some supplies. Can't wait to practice. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

Have you ever tried Liquid Latex to double seal your tape… I bet that would work great and be beneficial because it’s less wait time to dry and it will easily peel away. I’ve used it with my resin projects and it works great. Just a thought

I noticed that you're using Kilz for your white base rather than gesso. Is there a reason and would a latex white paint work as well?

So grateful for this video. It was nice to have so much information and detail to your journey with a piece. Also shows the amount of work an artist puts into their piece. It is not just a simply quick journey. I must say as much as i love the gold foil I would probably stay away from it since i would make a royal mess! Do you think if you used gold glue sticks it would give it a similar effect? Not exact as the foil is next level for sure.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I truly appreciate your recognition of the time, effort, and journey behind each piece of art. It indeed goes far beyond a simple, quick process. Creating art often means embracing a bit of messiness, which can be part of the fun and exploration! As for the gold element, I understand your concerns about the potential for mess with gold foil. I've actually experimented with gold glue sticks before, as you suggested. While they can certainly add an interesting touch, I've found they tend to have a more dull and bronze-ish finish. They don't quite capture the same rich, gleaming effect as gold foil. However, don't let the potential mess deter you from trying gold foil if you're drawn to it! Art is all about experimentation and personal expression, and sometimes the most beautiful results can come from unexpected places (and even messes!). Plus, practice mindset is the way to go when you do experiment. 😊 Thank you again for your insightful feedback. Happy creating! 🎨

I am curious if you have ever used water based inks? Do you think you could use alcohol with them also?
@AskariArt
@AskariArt 9 ай бұрын
I do have water based inks but I would not mix the two you will turn the alcohol inks to a mess. Unless that's what you want 😀. I have tried mixing and each don't respond to each other's activators

Hello there! love your videos! I'm hoping you could help me with a question. I'd like to try my first geode resin painting but I have no idea which type of filters to get for my 3M face mask? It's a half face one. It currently has expired 2091 P100 filters on it, they're pink. They gave us these makes during covid lol. Not sure if If these filters protect you from resin or not
@AskariArt
@AskariArt Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, the p100 2091 only protect from saw dust and particulates They are expired and I won't use them for anything. I'd use the 3m p100 60921 link: amzn.to/42FnlKD. If you are using a half face mask you want to wear some sort of protective eye wear as well just in case or just buy the full facemask.

Do you prep the canvas if you are doing a layer of spray paint first?
@AskariArt
@AskariArt Жыл бұрын
If it's pretreated store bought canvas you don't need to if it's raw canvas that I would do one layer so you don't have to use too much spray paint.

Quick question, is it safe to assume that the procedure that you use on the canvas, would apply to wood panels as well? Thanks in advance 🇨🇦👋

I'm not sure about wood. I think you would probably need to seal wood with even more coats

Hello. Im hoping you can help me! I started a geode resin painting and would like to add my glitter and lines but the resin I bought is bothering me! I have headaches after using it for only a short time. I can't smell any fumes with my Respirator on so I figure it should be ok? I bought the filters you suggested to me. Also, my safety goggles keep fogging up so I can't see ☹️
@AskariArt
@AskariArt 11 ай бұрын
If your respirator is functioning correctly you shouldn't have a headache. Which filters and respirator do you have? When you wear it does it have a perfect seal? Your goggles should fog up if your respirator is fully sealed around your face the fogging is happing when you have your breath hit it.

@AskariArt here are the filters I ordered- 3M 50051138464658 Cartridge/Filter 60921, Organic Vapor/P100 and I have the 3m half face mask. I just ordered a couple bottle of art resin, it says it's non toxic so maybe the fumes won't be as bad. Feeling super heachey though, not good at all

Is the respirator fully sealed around your mouth and nose? Some people also have severe allergies to resin. Make sure You're wearing gloves as well is your room ventilated?
@haylz3578
@haylz3578 11 ай бұрын
@AskariArt it seemed to be. I must not have sealed it properly today because yesterday my goggles did not fog up. But then the goggles sit so high above the Respirator it's hard to see lol maybe I can find a pair that sit better on the nose piece. I'm feeling better now but the resin i used smells insanely strong. I won't get that brand again. It's mod podge clear high gloss resin. I was doing it in my garage with the big garage door open. The smell is awful though I had to shower and wash my hair after cause I could smell it on myself. Should I be wearing normal clothes to do this? Or do u need a protective suit? I am using nitrile gloves
@AskariArt
@AskariArt 11 ай бұрын
You can just buy a full face mask that use the same filters you have so you have to worry about the goggles
