Len Wein, notable Batman writer of our lifetimes, is how I first think of that man. The Empire of Acheron was originally based where Stygia in the Age of Hyboria is then located, or the seat of Acheron's power was just beside where Stygia's is, to the East...it's been awhile since I looked at the maps. Acheron was the first empire based upon the worship of Set, and others, which Stygia has been made into being the successor of. But not as powerful as ancient Acheron was. Maybe the text for the vision-hallucination that young Thoth/Amon has from that snake bite, explains all of that to you though, hah. Sudden and hilarious Bruce Dickinson interjection, hahaha. Xaltotun! Xaltotun-of-Python!! Great surprise appearance, there. Such a struggle between two evil srocerers was great; something I haven't previously seen in a Conan/Hyboria story. This was really good, I liked how Kelley Jones' style was applied to this world and these characters. Very fitting, actually. I'm gonna have to keep this in mind for a future purchase. Wow this was a very story heavy Conan story. Looks cool and I need to pick up those Ablaze Conan books, they have it at my LCS.
