It's amazing how after all this time, 40 years, this movie remains the best movie adaptation of Conan. I'm still not saying that it was as good as a screen adaptation of Conan could've been but out of everything that was made based on this character, this remains by far the best. When it comes to television though, it's mind baffling, and hilarious, that an animated series, the one made in 1992 remains the best television adaptation of this character... So a movie made 40 years ago remains the best movie adaptation and an animated series, MADE FOR CHILDREN ONLY, remains the best TV adaptation of the character's story. I don't know if I should laugh or cry LOL...

This probably the best melee fight scene i've ever seen, old school effects, the hits have impact, you really feel the battle raging. the music, just incredible, the attention to detail with armors and weapons... it's amazing. . Today it's just cg blood and crappy light cutting moves.

Oversized, prop-like weapons? Check. Clumsy musclemen, oblivious of actual fighting technique? Check. Slow, weak cuts that would miss the opponent, optimized for that "clang-clang-clang" effect? Iteresting that I saw this series of scenes in mirrored version and to my surprise it was really pleasing. The action went from left to right. I only saw the upper version as a kid. Even further, the princess was completelly cut out from the last part of the movie. As a 37 year old guy, I have to realize I admired a very stripped down movie and I don't know this or the mirrored is the correct version. I guess I have to continue to watch. Arnold is right handed.

I like how Subotaï shielded the princess, and how he “asked” the wizard to “deal” with the snake arrow imbedded in the shield. Everyone has their speciality
