when I first seen this was thinking how cool that looked.now I can't believe I fell for the choreographed make believe.just like the old west twirling their six shooters nothing like actual sword fighting (or gun fighting) just for show.while he's twirling his sword the is being hacked to death. (and the gun fighter is shot full of holes. fighting is the first to stab or shoot is the winner. remember Indiana Jones and the swordsman,boom.the fancy gun fighter in the quick and the dead.

The "Atlantean" sword "Conan" uses in this movie is ridiculous. The crossguard on the weapon extends nearly half-way up the blade. Aside from diminishing the length of the sword blade; hence, diminishing the cutting capabilities of the sword, what the hell is the purpose of the crossguard? Why would any fighting man choose to use a sword that has 3/4 of it's blade covered by a crossguard? By the way, the character portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in this film is NOT Conan. Anyone who wants to experience the real Conan needs to read the original stories written by Robert E. Howard back in the 1930's. If your concept of the Cimmerian is based primarily upon this lame movie or the comic books, you don't know the character named Conan at all, and I feel sorry for you.

Take my shot at the riddle of steel enigma: first Conan feels it’s the literal steel of the sword that power derives, then, as in this video’s scene, he believes it’s a steely hand of fortitude that power derives to masterfully wield the literal steel, and then finally realizes through Valeria in the battle with Rexor that it’s through the manifestation of a spirit of steel that gives real power. In any case, I love how the film never literally answers the question so the audience has to figure out and interpret it on their own. Fantastic multilayered film.

Arnold Schwarzenegger(hope I spelled his last name right) was just so badass back in the 80's and 90's!! This is one of the best scenes in the whole movie!! Love his great serious face he has all the time!!

Conan in comics look nothing like Arnold. But if you hear a "Conan film being made" Arnold comes to mnid for comparison. He might be another Conan of countless Multiverse but he is still the real "Conan the Barbarian" as much as the Marvel's one. That şs Arnolds impact on Conan.

The end of the clip is the same as the beginning. I wonder if they just made Arnold repeat the routine over and over again when shooting and then cut the best parts together.
