Watch the older gentlemen in the seat to Conan's left wearing the dark jacket and jeans at 4:33-4:40. In those seven seconds, you can see him thinking of, conceptualizing, rehearsing and executing a brilliant joke. The punch line being "Thanksgiving!" Dude is underappreciated. I hear you brown jacket man. I salute you.

Expert is a term you should use very loosely when it comes to this guy, I worked at the Kruger National Park with actual animal trainers and this guy doesn't know what the hell he is doing.

@@bzilla1090 Yeah he's an expert but he was also pretty young when he became an expert. He's a zoologist and was the youngest zoo director in the country, which means he was either playing up the clumsiness for comedy or lacked the experience to be professional. But, based on how he acts on other Conan videos vs how he acts outside of the Conan show, I think he's playing it up for the show.

Yeah but don't misunderstand their body-language though, that chimp has been taught that a hug is a treat-opportunity. When he climbs on Conan, sortof, you can see that he tries to bite the top of his head for a bit, when he gets annoyed. He's not loving this.

Chimps at zoo's are actually considered a "shoot on sight" animal when they break out of containment because they are so unpredictable and dangerous, im not kidding when i say this but if they feel threatened they can rip your hands or face off if they wanted to do so.

To be honest...most of these animal experts ARE at least here on Conan! Though it certainly gives all of these segments: extreme tension, loads of excitement, causin' some panic, and anxiety, and elevatin' stress levels to upper echelons. It works perfectly to their credit, though...only because of Conan's reactions...him freaking out, precisely the exact right amount. He often freaks, but always comedically while never really crossing over in to panicing. Coming off as desperation, flowering out of sheer incompetence, however, they do both certainly seem like they're hamming it up quite a bit, showin' off and making a spectacled (cobra) out of most situations, playin' their audiences like the fiddles they'd always meant to be. You know...a tad hollow, nice-looking superficially,, and really nice having one around when/if truly ever needing to have, or use one. However, both can become extremely annoying if seeing or hearing way too much either one, or whenever overuse starts to become an issue, but then in either case, a small controlled fire will generally remedy things, and'll quickly end their mangey cacophony...at least once all the sirens, alarms, screaming and shouting and crying and shrieking have each (in turn) subdued, subsided, or have since been subverted (4 times over), respectively. Easy, peasy, sleazy, skeazy LmMFaO! ;) :P :o) 🌋🙈🙉🙊🌋

@@Nati4Truth so funny story, that is my grandma's chimp, when he was just in his early years he had like a 20'x15' cage that he slept in. He used to have a crib at first, and he would hold himself and do front flips in it. He and I used to watch tv and lay together etc. When my grandparents were home and weren't doing chores, he just freely roamed the house in a diaper. Once he go into young adult years and obviously powerful, he was moved out by the barn in a large enclosed heated/cooled building that also had an outdoor run for the warm months, and she'd let him outside to play when people weren't around. Sadly we lost him at a young age unexpectedly Christmas, 2009, and my grandma not even a year ago. If only we had smart phones and the things we had now back in the late 90s/early 2000s I would've been the coolest kid around. haha

Well its not very easy to keep wild animals steady and calm for the cameras in a studio. Lots of clapping, lights, people and all other kinds of stuff that can stress most animals. But im sure Jarod loves them.

I'm not one for talk shows but holy crap the animal segments on Conan are always sO AMAZING, and this is possibly the best one of all. Jeezus you got the audience fondling the turkeys, the fox scurrying around the stage like a rat on the loose, the guest star nearly choking during his OWN demonstration, the snake being threatened with kitchen tongs, and the host getting punched and then straddled by a chimpanzee, all in the span of eight minutes. Tis a thing of beauty.

This has got to be my favorite Jarod/Conan episode. Pure comedy gold! The salad tong, Conan annoying the snake, the turkey flying to the audience while Conan cheered, Jarod gagging on the diapraghm, the chimp knuckling Conan's face and riding on his back with Jarod. Such a wholesome laugh.
