I once knew a couple, husband had a failed business, wife used to work. The lady was better educated and better looking as compared to her husband. She was from an affluent family but had decided to marry much below her social status. Despite investing so much of herself in the marriage, the husband would dominate every aspect of her life, down to the number of rotis the lady consumed. She was the one putting food on the table and had a 'Roti limit'!!! I had once invited them over for lunch. While eating, she said," Aaj zyaada roti utha li!" I said," Didi, khatey samay roti nahi ginte." She smiled and said," Nahi bhai, humare ghar mein toh ginte hain!"😢 My wife and I could feel her helplessness. One fine day, she decided to leave him. Am happy for the lady🎉 to have taken such a bold decision. Frugality does not mean cutting down on basic needs.

Financial Independence is different and Retire Early is different. Focus on FI(creating a cash flow system so that it can sustain your basic needs). And then work freely on the things you likes to do, and trust me, this you can do lifelong because you likes what you are doing.

I agree with u sirji. We need to keep looking for opportunities to earn more money through multiple income streams. Instead of focusing on FIRE, people should focus on FI which is financial independence by making more money than what is needed.

Sir, As I have already informed you through my other comments, I work 9-5 in a PSU Job, which I wanted to leave, just by saving enough for life. I now feel that this approach was so flawed. Sir, I have started a part time business and am so happy with the outcome of the same. I think, instead of F.I.R.E, it should be S.O.B.R.E (Start of business, Retire early). Build a system in business, so that you can retire from active work. Thanks

Agreed.. me pahle bhi believe karta tha ki SIP jodne se 20 saal me koi karorpati ho sakta h .. but Ameer nahi qki paise ki value bhi har 10 saal me half ho rhi h.. aur aaj se 20 saal me tab ka 1 cr is equivalent to aaj ka 25 lakh aur 90s ka 6 lakh approx

Sirji what you are talking is true but there are some people who have earned for rest of their life. Their interest on saving is way more than their expenses. In this case it doesn't matter if they work or not. F.I.R.E is about going into that sweet spot for me.

@@harshawardhantalegaonkar9162 invested the money in real estate, equities and P2P since young age. He was being frugal beyond what he should had been (which is wrong) but now that he realises that he has a lot of money is making up for the past by spending like anything. Hence I said, different people react differently and so I don't completely aggree with this video.
