The rat has managed to find its way into the shop and get into another car in the shop.

We had a shop rat that plagued us for over a year. In that time, this rat: - Ate through pit packs of ATF and caused a spill that leaked through the ceiling of the office - Ate through plastic tool boxes - Evaded all our various traps - Ate the rat poisoned peanut butter and decided to simply eat through the jar to get to the better stuff. - was stuck twice by 2 ft 1/4 inch extension - survived falling off a bay door that was wide open - ate our lower bay technicians Vietnamese Coffee - chewed up our bottles of water we have stacked up. - destroyed paper towels - chewed through oil bottles and pit packs - destroyed our chair. - destroyed and ate roach bait stations, which we had because of rat aftermath. What finally got him? Slimjim in a massive T-rex trap. fker was the size off a fully grown Guinea pig. It was a good thing that did it because our general manager was slowly turning into Captain Ahab trying to kill this thing

Allllll right. Tale from the northerner. Used to build houses and had rat problems all the time. Here ya go. Home depot has nearly all you need for this. Get a 5gal bucket, length of all thread a little longer than the bucket. 8 nuts, 6 washers, a large soda/monster can, drill a hole in the bottom in the center, the top rivet. DONT OPEN THE CAN. 20 inch long piece of 1x3. Screw the wood to the bucket, set it up this way for the can. Nut, washer/bucket/washer, nut/nut nut washer/can/ washer nut nut, nut washer/bucket washer nut. Get some peanut butter with honey, lather the can well!! Dab a little on the plank, fill the bucket with water, or antifreeze. When you leave for the night the rats will leave the vehicles and smell the peanut butter, they will slide off the big can and drown. Is it humane? No. Is it effective? Abso-fucking-lutely. We would leave the job site that night and come back the next morning and have 20 dead rats in the bucket. For you shop I recommend 2-3 buckets. We had a rat problem one year at the dealership i worked at that actually chewed the wires on a new corvette. Boss was pissed. Made 4 rat buckets. We just left them there. Ive been gone from that dealership for 10 years. They still have the buckets and still catch rats.

1. Get a hose 2. put on the exhaust 3. rout it under the hood. 4 start the car and let it idle for 30 minutes with the hose under the hood 5 remove the dead mouse. There is a other solution. Get a cat

Mouse trap and peanut butter. Had one in my car left it under hood on the intake next morning gone. But recommend clean clean the engine bay. If it peed/pooped other mice can smell it and come.

If I have enough money, I'd buy a FLIR cam (or anything simillar) to look for heat signatures. Just make sure the car is cold. LOL
