Why not just use a real concrete overlay, it give you actual concrete... the color and look, and needs no paint, no prime either.

The outcome looks great! I'm planning to do something similar to my wall, just that I will be mounting a couple of shelves and posters. I wonder, drilling after its dry won't make the cement to crack or something like that?
