Saw a video this morning of a small single axle dump truck backing onto a relatively new driveway. 1/2 way up this thing snapped in 2 over the full double car width like a damn chicken bone. My 1st thought was, THS sure didn't do this one😂😂😂

Wow, that's crazy about the inspector not accepting a video. Pretty darn clear to me there's plastic under the entire pour. I would accept the video. That was a wild pour. All those wires!! And such a tight fit for the mixer. Nice video today. Thanks.👍❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

All trucks carry the OSHA approved wire moving cones. Safety orange is the approved color.

I've always heard (from Superior Wall reps) that you weren't supposed to pour concrete into the cavity areas of their walls due to differential settlement/movement. They said to install blocking and pour up to the blocking.

On the patio in the last segment: I really like the look of doing the more strongly textured main area with the smoother borders. But it does seem less compatible with having patio furniture or most grills or plants in pots. Appearance is great, but usefulness might be less so.

Man I've been on a lot of those exact jobs including the inspector.

Would love to see the pattens that some rough cut band mill lumber would leave on the sides of a pour. Steps and sides.

Always quite hairy getting the truck between those close houses thinking about those basements on either side…love the superior walls…big addition.

PS - those orange cones are life savers ....

Sorry this is what pump trucks are built for.

Showing the wires overhead reminds me of a time at work where my cousin ran a concrete company. They were putting in a new apron in front of the assembly line building. It was during shutdown that the company where I worked and I was bringing in supplies for them to do the work. They had a pumper out there to make it easier to pour. They had the pumper way up high, then all of a sudden an electrician came by on his scooter and said watch out for those power lines they have 13,000 volts running through them and so they lowered the piping down and away from them. That could have been really bad for all his workers since they were standing on the wire mesh as well.

Why leave the old broken concrete under neath it? what if any of it becomes dislodged and or sinks further into the ground will that not effect the strength of the top pad especially?

I was hoping you would explain the form system they used on the Basement addition. Not familiar with it

The plastic got moved over a foot away from that one wall from all the foot traffic. It was never fixed before you poured. Normally, I've seen you fix that or add extra additional plastic?

Tom, how do you know the driveway is strong enough to handle that heavy concrete truck ? I’d be afraid it would crack it everywhere.

Why didn't the lazy inspector come out to see the plastic on the floor.

Just a comment. We place concrete not pour. If you pour it the slump is high and the w/c ratio is not ideal. Ty

The inspector is a jackass! Yes Tom, I said it for you. He should have got his ass at the job site earlier instead of goofing around that morning.

The inspector should have got off of his happy butt and got to location before everything was covered up if he was not going to accept a video. Those guys could not pour a drop of concrete they just want to give contractors headaches. Keep up your excellent work.

Tom - the inspector is also a member of the Flat Earth Society. Doesn't believe in that new fangled technology stuff . . . like video recording of what was there before the pour. Can't say more and not offend . . . . somebody 😂
