Hi everyone, my name is Vickie, and I'm a wife and mother of two. Today, I'm taking you along with me as I attend my nursing school orientation at the age of 30.
I have always had a passion for helping others, and after years of working jobs that did not fulfill me, I decided to pursue a career in nursing. As you can imagine, going back to school as a busy mom has been challenging, but I'm determined to make it work.
As I arrive at the orientation, I'm feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. I'm eager to learn more about the program and meet my fellow classmates, but at the same time, I'm worried about how I'll juggle my family responsibilities and schoolwork.
Once the orientation begins, I'm relieved to see that there are other non-traditional students like myself, and the program seems very supportive of parents and working adults. I take notes furiously, trying to absorb all the information and advice that's being shared.
Overall, the orientation is a success, and I leave feeling more confident about my decision to go back to school. I know that the road ahead won't be easy, but with the support of my family and the skills I'll gain through nursing school, I'm excited for the future.
