We asked 50 people - one from each state in the U.S. - to put courtesy aside and honestly rate the drivers from their neck of the woods. Which states will always signal before changing lanes? Is road rage really a problem in New York? Watch us whip around the nation on this episode of Culturally Speaking, and tell us what you think of your home state's drivers in the comments below.

Bad rap is the original phrase meaning "a bad or undeserved reputation." Bad rep, which contains the literal shortening of "reputation," has historically been interpreted as a spelling error, but has seen enough usage to merit entry. Bad wrap is considered wrong and is best saved for referring to wraps and tortillas.

The New Hampshire and Massachusetts girls are pretty spot on, we do have a lot of lousy drivers. I went to college in Springfield and I don't remember too many nights when I didn't hear somebody skidding. On the other hand, when it comes to driving in snow, we're more used to it here than drivers in the Southern states, so we're probably better prepared in that regard.

I'm surprised this isnt common in some other places, but in Texas (at least in Houston) most go upwards of 10-20 miles faster than the speed limit on the freeway. Also, left side is for speeding, right is for slow people Plus our traffic is, concerning.

In Texas, even though the speed limit on typical major highways is 70, people will tailgate if you go the speed limit, especially trucks. The unwritten rule is: the outer lane is 70-75mph, middle lane is 75-80, inner lane is 80-85+ depending on traffic

My mom thought it was really interesting and kind of funny, so now it's framed in our laundry room wall.

Live in New Jersey and never really drove out of state until I started college and my college is in western New York. I was so confused when I was up there. I was like why are people letting me merge, and no one is in the fast lane (aka passing lane). That’s when I learned I was the crazy one the whole time. My mom says if you can drive in Jersey you can drive anywhere. It is a different world on the roads in NJ. There’s tons of aggression, speeding, traffic, recklessness, and the Jersey slide. I am still not use to driving without it when I’m at college. 😂🤣😂🤣
