A spouse visa (also known as a CR1 or IR1 visa) is a marriage green card that allows a foreign national married to a U.S. citizen to live and work permanently in the United States. Can the US CR1 application be approved + completed if the Non-Amerivan Spouse is not in their Home Country and would be considered a Third Country National in South Africa or Canada? FYI, the Non-American Spouse travels for work.

When filing and waiting during CR1 visa process, can my wife still apply for tourist visa so she can visit me while we wait during the process? Or would I have to go visit her every time? (I’m a U.S. citizen)

To have her stay in us while case is decided you'd need to fill out a K-3 visa application but it could slow down your current case. Same goes for tourist. It'll cost you but probably won't be approved. Then you'll have to explain why you were denied. Be patient

We are also April 14, 2022 I'm a US citizen also. All we see on our progress is taking longer than expected..don't call us, we'll call you kind of stuff. But I'm pretty sure it's 80% of cases will be done by 14 months. They only done 7 cases of k1 from April, 2022 as of today. But that's k1

Yes, I believe you can travel freely to the U.S. on the ESTA even while the CR1 is processing. I'm doing the same thing with my British spouse, and I believe that's how it works... but I could be wrong. As long as customs know that you are planning on going back to the U.K. every time.
