My mind split in half when the Dragonfly kept spinning and flipping and unfolding like it did. One of those impossible objects, but someone was selling it as an actual product. Unreal

I love how for the Dragonfly Knife Device, they decided to split the keyboard in half for it to be able to fold and so you can try to type like a normal person. But then that means you can't use it as one single laptop, you need to use dual-screen mode for the full keyboard, have fun being productive while your attention is split perfectly down the center. I also found it really funny how they started the video with their vice president of social media introduce the supposed issue the product solves instead of like the CEO or the lead designer or the guy who came up with the idea

I can see how "not to be used as a weapon" is necessary warning for the expandable staff.

The Ring seems like a really cool idea that's held back by multiple logistical problems and "what if" scenarios. It feels more like something you'd see in a futuristic movie and be like "dude that's so cool I wish it were real".

One of my favorite failed kickstarters I’ve come across was this I thiiiink MMO game where the idea is that they make a 3D model and/or real world animatronic of you that moves inside of a real world set (it’s not well explained at all) and the game has this batshit insane plot about Google nuking the world and a bunch of refugees being flung out into space on a ship housing the corpse of actual Steve Jobs or something I was unable to find what the project was called (yes even that is hard to pin down) but there’s a video on it on KZfaq called “Kickstarter Nonstarters: We Don’t Know What This Is”

I literally just was trying to find a coney vid to watch and then thought to myself, “this is around the time he posts.” And boom

There's this channel called Retsupurae where the guys running it (who'd used to do MST3K-like riffs on really bad Let's Plays) did a series of videos looking at really bad Kickstarters back when they were new _nearly ten years ago at most_ and they did one on this exact dude. Absolutely crazy to see it featured here.

The one time use power banks... such a bad idea, especially for the environment, also why that packaging lol. I do like the idea of hearing a story of someone using the ring to pay someone and their whole life savings gets yoinked in an instant. "NO, MY MONEY!!"

I really like coney’s Reddit stuff because it’s sparse enough that it doesn’t get repetitive, interesting enough that he can make a game out of it, and he reads through the threads instead of just looking at the posts. Like I have a rule that I usually use Adblock on any Reddit or react videos but coney’s a big exception because he’s not just stealing videos, he either gets permission or adds an element to make it his own. Like I know this is still slop content but I don’t feel bad about it

The DERP thing is so bad... My store sold something similar I would ALWAYS talk people out of buying them. First off people suck at recycling so where will these things end up after their single use? This is the same problem I have with "disposable" ecigs. They are not disposable. They have lithium batteries in them. They are plastic which is also bad. They dont hold a large battery at all so their 1 time use has a short use by date window and when you finally use it it charges your phone like 10%. Just a bad idea all around unless your goal is to ruin the planet more. EDIT: made this before finishing that segment glad this got shut down and the commenters knew what was up. If only we could get rid of disposable ecigs. I use an ecig I am a douchefluter I get it but the disposables are just awful.

The funny thing with the Dragonfly is that there's another device that is probably a more practical version of the same concept, and is an actual product you can buy: the NexDock. And unlike the Dragonfly, it's just a peripheral for your existing android phone (albeit only if you use certain brands like Samsung, Huawei or Motorola whose software skin already has a desktop mode when connected to an external display and I/O) or a Linux phone if you're an absolute weirdo
