It’s between you and God to forgive other people. They will not change unless God creates the change in them. You cannot love them without first forgiving them. If you wait for “sisters” to change, you will be waiting for the rest of your life. The change begins with you.

It appears that the thief on the cross would not have been able to confess all of his sins to the people that he had sinned against, but yet he was saved. I think that what is most important is that you have confessed your sins to God (as all sins are ultimately against God).

Remember where the Psalms say "Against you and you alone I have sinned," to GOD - when that was after David committed adultery and murder. What God forgives, you can't condemn yourself for. At what point is it unhealthy and obsessive to apologize for ever sin you've ever committed? To be honest, it sounds like you're already well within that unhealthy space if you're tracking down teachers to confess cheating that happened years ago. Read 1st John. "Beloved, if our hearts condemn us God is greater than our hearts. And he knows everything!" Jesus said it is finished. That's true whether you feel guilty or not. Where in the Bible do you find support to make amends with every person you ever wronged? And did you sin against a teacher when you cheated - or do they not care too much about it? God cares, however much he cares about it. He cares about us having a clean heart before him - and he solved that problem in Christ. You will not help God solve that problem by tracking down everyone you ever wronged. That doesn't mean we don't make amends when we have a healthy opportunity to that will actually benefit the wronged party. But you can't do this right enough to make things better. If you could, Jesus died for no reason at all.

@kokopelli121123 - Confess your sins to mature, trustworthy belivers. People who will not judge you harshly nor withold something difficult that needs to be said, but who can say it with kindness. I also reccomend you read The Cure by John Lynch, as well as Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund.

@@AdamSmith-ec5nv Co-redemptrix is not doctrine and it only means that she cooperated with God in His plan of redemption. The earliest prayer to the Blessed Mother was found on the original papyrus in the 3rd century so, where was your church or congregation in the 3rd century? The Catholic Church is the only one established by Jesus and all others have been established by men during or after the 16th century.

@@gregwademan359 and when Rome was full with preist having sex with prostitutes and selling indulginses and murdering unbelievers. Was the Catholic Church that was doing that still the church ordained by Christ. Nah. The church are those that have their faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Does this mean we would do nothing each time we sin or make mistake. Doug is not saying once you sin you lose your salvation but sinning hurt our relationship and happiness with God.
