Believe it or not, your tutorial is still helping people. When I got the MX530 a few years ago I followed the instructions. Like so many have expressed it was a nightmare. Finally, I got it connected to my network. Unexpectedly the printer connection was dropped. I was not looking forward to going through the setup once again. I came across your tutorial. The printer was connected in 2 minutes. It's mindboggling that Canon would not have this method printed on a "Quick Setup" guide. Thank you very, very much. You saved me from a few hours of heavy drinking. 😄

After multiple unsuccessful tries following the instructions that came with my printer, I found your tutorial. Within minutes, I was able to successfully setup my wireless printer. Thank you! You not only made my day, but restored my confidence in having at least some limited ability to function rather independently in rural America.

This tutorial was quick, easy and painless! When I first got my printer, I read the instructions, but for some reason, it seemed to difficult and impossible to connect to the internet, so I gave up. A year later, I thought I'd give it a try again. This was the first video suggested on Google, and followed all the steps and got it all right the first time! I had not used this printer very much. It is five years old with less than 500 prints. I changed its location in the house and had to reset it. I was about to go buy a new one because I could not get it up and going again. You just saved me a couple hundred bucks. I do need new ink. But, that is a lot less expensive than a new printer. I've spent five hours trying to get my new printer to work wireless. At no point does the crappy Canon guide say that the NUMBER keypad is accessed via the star key, and my Billion router uses numbers not letters. Thanks a million for explaining this and for getting me going!

After updating Comcast equipment (that required a change of network name and password), the connection between my computer and printer got lost. When many phone calls and search through manuals on how to re-establish the connection failed to yield any results, (and I had to have the stuff printed to meet a deadline!), just as I was on the verge of getting desperate, I stumbled upon your video. May you be blessed for posting it! I mean this! My printer is a bit different from yours, but I got the gist of it and worked my way around the differences until I got it figured out. Wow! This was VERY helpful Mr. ITJungles. Without your showing this, I would have been lost and my printer would not have functioned as well. The instructions sent with the printer are crap when it comes to anything other than plugging physical items in.

If you're not sure about any of these settings, you can call Canon support 1845-276-9007 ( US & Canada ). That’s the easiest and most general way to get help for your Canon printer.

My WiFi password is combined letters with numbers. Your show detailed how to switch from number to letter by changing “1” to “2” in Passphase which helped me to complete set up. You answered my question instead of Canton customer service when I called Canton and asked how to change to letter, I was told Canton MX432 was too old to have their phone service. So I found your show and I thank you so much!

Thank you so much! I have two Canon PIXMA printers and they failed me often times over the past few years of use. The chances of having them working is by luck. I read numerous articles and learned to set a static IP for each and to set up a TCP/IP port to print in order to avoid disconnectivity due to router/Wifi problem. But nothing helps me like your video to get the printers CONNECTED to the network. They are just always offline. I "ping" their IP address in the command prompt and can never reach them. Now it works!! Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for this. I recently had to purchase a new Apple Airport and set up a new network. I had lost the instructions for my MX432 and Canon's site was convoluted enough that I couldn't locate a PDF of the instructions to connect the printer to the new network so I was putting it off until I actually needed something printed. A Google search led me here and your instructions worked perfectly. Had things going again faster than it took me to navigate Canon's site.

OMG THANK YOU!!!! My internet provider came and changed oh excuse me (upgraded) my modem and router. I got all of our devices connected and we were doing well until I had to print some information for work and could not. I called my internet provider and they were like "everything on our end is o.k. so you need to contact the company who your printer is with". I was glad that my printer had a USB cable and I was able to print what I needed for work. I total forgot I had to change my lan settings in my printer. You are a genius.

This is such a helpful video. Connected a new modem and to computer and needed to do the same for printer. He makes it so easy. Worked just fine. Make sure you have your printer network name and password. He walks you through everything. Thank you so much!

Ok Dude, you are officially my HOD (Hero of the Day). Side note, printer can also go the WPS setup route, no password bs. Navigate to that in the printer, tells you to hit WPS button on your router, go back to printer and hit [OK], automatically connects (no password)... HOOAHH!
