Have you ever wonder if you connect a mobile hotspot to a home WiFi router? I'm here to let you know it is possible. But there is one requirement.

Can I use my mobile hotspot (nighthawk 5g mobile hotspot pro) for my homes sole internet and connect my Linksys router to the Ethernet port to spread the coverage and still have my hardwired devices (home computer) work off the router?

I just got nighthawk hotspot from att and I want to use it as my home wifi and connect it to a router. It does have a ethernet port. Is there a router you recommend hooking up to a hotspot?

Any router will do, but I like the Netgear Routers, depending on your setup you can go with a single router or mesh system ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7CZoqajtsvTe2w.html ) Check out this video.

This method works if ur normal wired dsl connection (phone line connection) is total garbage like mine…bell has the next gen of his router with their flex plus plan it can host almost 2 gigabytes/second and run on 5G connection, phone hotspots only work for a period of time before ur processor in your phone gets hot and slows your connection, you can use this process of turning a mobile hotspot router into a modem for areas that get good cell reception ie. 4G LTE or 5G but may not have the proper resources from a local telephone company to provide you with sufficient internet, this is quite the solution 👍🏻

Had a work issue a few years ago when it would take two weeks for the ISP to install internet with at a new business. Managed to solve the issue in about an hour with a hot spot.

Help! I need you! I have an all in one and I have T-Mobile hotspot and line link. My phone will not connect. I did have to buy a router. I don’t know how to connect.

Do you have an Ethernet port on the T-Mobile hot spot? That's what needed to make this work. Once you connect the Hot spot to the Router via the cable, follow the procedure on setting up your router via the instructions. Once completed all you need to do now is look for the WiFi name on your phone for instance and enter the password.

quick question. if i have hotspot without an ethernet output, can i just connect the router to the hopspot using the wpa option? that’s how i connect a wifi range extender to the hotspot.

OK, so this is not going work for you because this require an ethernet connection. Without the ethernet ports on the hotspot you better just using it as a Wi-Fi hotspot to share your Internet.

Some routers allow USB tethering, such as the ASUS RT-68U. You can even tether your mobile phone to it, which is what I did, since tmobile home internet doesn't allow port forwarding, which I need for my VoIP work phone.

Can I use my nighthawk with a eero mesh network? Also do I need to change settings on my nighthawk to allow the router and hotspot to communicate

Yes you can & there’s no settings you have to change on the nightHawk, all you need to do is just plug in the ethernet cord and you’re good to go

Theres a thing called usb tethering if ur router has a usb function u could give it a try if it has 2 usbs try both and see which one works

Doesn't really make much sense to trade one wifi connection to create another wifi connection. Just use your phone hotspot and eliminate the bulk and expense of all that additional equipment. It's better to tether your phone to a good router and just use your phone as your ISP modem.Passing one wifi connection off to another wifi connection is silly and produces latencies that are unnecessary.

Could be for people like me who are looking to boost signal or reduce workload of hotspot. My family lives in an RV and the signal of my cheap hotspot is spotty.

We use our android phone to tether using our data rather than hotspot data. I would love to find a router to use that would boost signal and speeds. We only get .2 mb now with the phone.

You might have to reset the router - especially if you had it already connected to another modem or hotspot

@@AndrewFM_Official At the time I did not know I had a data cap on the iPhone so now I have Centurylink. Have you tethered a Nighthawk, I'm not sure it responds to that like a Beryl. But anyway I like unlimited Centurylink vs. the iPhone.

@@philliphanford2792 im canadian and i use telus i got a 50gb unlimited plan with no reduced speeds even after you hit 50gb, im just hotspotting off my phone but soon am upgrading to a sim enabled wifi router … its much cheaper than these devices but still downloads at 1.2gb/s on 4g LTE and you dont need two devices just the router it can also connect to a outdoor antenna in an area that doesnt get good reception inside … it kinda acts like a signal booster

@@philliphanford2792 if u have a newer smartphone you get an option to use ur charging cable to tether ur internet via usb from ur phone to ur router although most routers dont support it yet

@@AndrewFM_Official I do. iPhone 13 and it tethers to my travel router. Made me excited to ditch Hughes Satellite ISP and go directly to my Nighthawk. But then I get notice my iPhone data ran out! I'm pretty sure the nighthawk doesn't support it, the travel router, Beryl, does. My particular Nighthawk is quite old.
