Wow , l am surprised, some really varied and spectacular features. Thanks for the vision , l have read all Len Beadells books , unfortunately have never been on any of his roads but did inspire me to travel a lot of Australia. Cheers David👍👌

That trip, which included the Gunbarrel Hwy (posted last week) was my first real off road 4wd trip after purchasing my LC in 2004. I had done the NT the year before solo, but this one started a sequence for us. 2008, we did the Anne Beadell. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rqegbLh32tzdpmQ.html Thanks for dropping by. Cheers, Laurie.

I am surprised not to see any ruins around those gorges. Specially since there seems to be almost year round water there? Or am I wrong? Looks like some great country.

G'day James. This land was previously un-occupied by the white man. The story is best told in summary here ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Len_Beadell. As for water, we were following a rain patch. The average is 350-650 mm. www.bom.gov.au/climate/maps/averages/climate-classification/?maptype=seasb This area was chosen for the roads for the rocket range recovery operations - no habitation ... or so it was assumed by the government of the day. Check this video out ... Beadell had an great sense of humour ... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMyEpbxj2tWtno0.html I think that answers the question. Hope all is good with you mate.
