It's pretty cool how many viable ways there have been to build Esper piles since SNC released. Void Rend has performed _very_ well for me in the current meta when I can get the lands to cast it. I've had more than one mono-blue player try to Make Disappear it and then scoop when it didn't work. 😄

That's why Slip Out the Back is a key card in Mono U lists ;) That card puts in WORK.

@@canman87 Slip Out the Back is good and all, but if you Void Rend the mono-U player's creature on their upkeep and they're forced to phase it out to save it, you've still basically Time Walked them.

there's no standard legal ascend from avernus / agadeems equivalent, with that much connive grave fill, feels like a mass rez would be gg pretty consistently barring a farewell

Esper right now has so many builds and so many strong card choices that it's absolutely maddening to try and fit it all in any particular version of the deck. I'm sitting here watching these games and keep saying "Wandering Emperor would be great here" or "Serra Paragon would really give this deck a nice value engine for grinding out attrition games", but it doesn't really matter, because there's no space in the deck, and it's not like there are any obvious bad cards to cut for them. The life of an Esper mage is to be spoiled for choice I guess. What a ridiculously strong card pool for a standard archetype though.

Cgb consider cutting 1 of each legendary creature that you play more then two of and play that many phyrexian missionary..... Not only will the lifelink come in handy when you Raffine but also the kicker ability can give you the legendary creatures or a resolute reinforcement that traded or Chumped blocked early or got removed

Farie Vandal instead of Resolute reinforcements? I I guess in the end its one less body and the same amount of counters with a turn 3 raffine. Is a flyer though so might be worth it for that.

i've been likeing "Obscua Charm" over make disappear in my deck because its a counter vs the more controlling decks or its a removal spell vs the more aggressive decks. and in a pinch you can always return a Toluz or a Raffine, or a dennick unflipped

I played with a very similar deck to this against a player called overt go green. I use the ledger shredders to help get that connive life and then duplimancy for multiple sheoldreds popping. So much fun

I think raffines silencer might have a spot. Trades with djinn and other 4 toughness things, kills X/2s through indestructible, etc. Wish it could crew bank buster though

Guardian of new Benalia is the missing piece. sub out resolute reinforcements or maybe a copy or two of dennick. Guardian has great synergy with all of your three drops and is nearly unkillable if you have cards in hand.

You can easily build winning decks for free. If you want variety and to be able to build new decks every day or week like CGB, you probably need to put some $$ in. If you thoroughly enjoy the game and play for hours a week, whats wrong with spending $50 every few months, though?

I get where you're coming from but I also think it's important now to revisit old decks and cards now that Meathook is gone. There has been a massive shift in the meta because of it so watching these decks/cards get replayed is valuable information to learn about this meta shift
