One thing that will absolutely translate to the NHL is his awareness. I love that hes always moving, he's always finding open ice and he created countless opportunities all game. At the NHL level he wont be creating every shift but he can still make a sick play every period. That really isnt too much considering his talent.

Players in Bedards caliber always have a funny way of quickly adapting and growing beyond their next level of competition. Probably not straight away, but soon, I believe we could see Bedard do what he did to the Junior Circuit in the NHL. His absolute freakish understanding of the game will always keep him a threat no matter what.

Can't wait to see how he performs against teams like Carolina, Vegas, and New York that are gonna do everything they can to try to shut him down entirely.
@kentmartin92897 ай бұрын
I think he's got a great shot at outscoring Ovechkin and Crosby's first seasons. They had 106 and 102 points in their rookie year and I think he has the potential to outdo that. Those numbers you provided are outstanding. 2.62 points per game across all 3 of those competitions is crazy. Even Gretzky was only slightly ahead of that with 2.71 points per game (granted, he was a year younger in his only year of junior). Of course Lemieux was way ahead with 3.98 points per game (didn't play World Junior that year though).
@doctorcane7 ай бұрын
@@kentmartin9289 I didn't realize Lemieux had those numbers. Yikes. As far as Connor is concerned, I'm more middling on his expectations. More in the 50-70 range for points. Teams will double team him coming across no man's land. prevent him from getting thru and then play their best defenseman on him in the zone man on man. With a few teams, it won't matter if they have horrible players or are still rebuilding (Philly), but with Vegas, Fla, Carolina, LA, Dallas, et al....there's no way he escapes with a 4 point game. They'd rather die by another player than let him get off. He'll get his, but just not all the time.

He's good at the last second hesitation. # 99 had this gift also. One thing to note is the goaltending and how it has changed over time. I used to be a goalie on a championship team. Its easy to see how Bedard does it, he has a super accurate shot and he disguises his release so the goalie cant read it. Wrist shots are the most difficult to read because there is no wind up to give the goalie a split second to get set. On the last two goals, the goalie might have had a better chance by moving out to cut down the angle.

The way to stop the quick release of Mathews and Bedard is for the goalie to do exactly what you described. When Price had those 2 super seasons that is what he did but somehow along the way forgot how to do that after the Rangers playoff series where they intentionally took him out. Teams will make a book on Bedard and have their teams study his...go to's.....McDavid has his speed to give him that super edge Bedard, will have to work on his skating and speed.

I hope he keeps his head up and survives first contact with some of the larger hitters in the league because they're all gonna go for the hit every time. What's the fine up to, a nickel or maybe a quarter? They'll pay that and smile.

I hope they protect this kid on the ice.

I think he will finish the season with 10 goals and 14 assists in 82 games.

I regularly see comments on videos that suggest that Bedard will be a flop. I'm not sure why there are so many doubters.

Chicago better invest in muscle to keep this young man healthy🤞🏾. Other then cheap shots , the best defenders in the NHL will have a 20% chance of success. Hawks should have picked up Reaves.

With an already top tier NHL shot I see 40 goals achievable this year, could be more if he had better support

My only worry is size. He needs bulk and needs it kinda fast. Other than that, kids an absolute lock for a star player.

i find it odd theres people praying on a kid who just turned 18 downfall bc hes a chicago blackhawk. As a hawks fan i cant wait to be the villian for the next 15 years

Of course Bedard will get the cup before McDavid because McDavid will never get one as long as he plays in Canada. Last time I checked Chicago is in the USA
