Күн бұрынIn this video I cover game three of the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers. I cover more of the controversial calls and non-calls, as well as the play that lead to Carson Soucy's suspension after cross-checking Connor McDavid in the face after the final buzzer. Brock Boeser is a legend. The Canucks fleeced the flames in both the Nikita Zadorov trade AND the Elias Lindholm trade. Artūrs Šilovs is a menace in the net and simply REFUSES to look nervous even just a little bit. Our boy Big Hög was scratched and replaced by Linus Karlsson who didn't look out of place at all. Stuart Skinner was pulled at the start of third period after letting in 4 goals in 18 shots (ouch). The Canucks are taking this in six because they are GOOD. Also, Draisaitl and Šilovs have a beef forming.

I mean, the obvious answer is because, they dont have a "book ' on the guy yet - they dont have a meta on what he does best and does poorly etc. after a lot of film emerges, coaches review it and know ways to beat a guy. that's why a goalie can be hot. but screw it, is what it is and the guy deserves credit

As sdpn pointed out - Silovs has been playing for team Latvia, so he's genuinely already used to 40-60 shots a game. Mans been training his whole life to take the edmonton powerplays down.

Boeser is such an unsung hero. Teams don't give him the respect and then he just gets so much room to score on them so easily. But not only teams, the media doesn't give respect or acknowlegment, fans don't seem to ever really talk about him.. the guys at goal scoring machine and arguably the best snapshot in the league gets it off so quick and he's so accurate. His positioning is phenomenal, and the guy is an excellent clutch player who excels under pressure. Without besser our team wouldn't be what it is, there's very few players in the NHL who could replace him and achieve the same output, cuz very few can shoot like him. What more does a guy have to do?

Drai literally has 8 points in 3 games. He’s unstoppable, and their PP is crazy good. But after McDick and Crysaitl they have no depth. The only way they have a shot at competing is if they play 30 mins each.

@ashleyjohnson258 there were bad calls or missed calls on both sides yeah, but the more egregious missed calls were detrimental to the Canucks. The high stick on Hughes? That was insane. For sure the refereeing in that match harm to Canucks a lot more than the Oilers. I even hear fans from other teams saying about this game, how usually they laugh when people complain about the referee from other teams, but this time it was clearly unfair for the Canucks. And here you are Canucks fan is saying it was equal bullshit on both sides 🤔 nah come on that was one of the worst referee games I've ever seen in my life literally and it's during playoffs in a tight series, I don't know what whatever set you off as a Canucks fan if this didn't.

I'm not going to be one of those people saying "my team would've for sure won if blah blah blah" cause you'd have no idea. oilers have a good power play line, if the refs called every single penalty against oilers, but only a fraction against us, they'd for sure have more goals. would we? probably, but enough to win? no idea. it was too inconsistent of a game to tell. it wasn't exactly a game I was proud of, with that dive and the very obvious too many men that surprisingly wasn't called. so yeah, I'm a canuck fan... but also logical

Last year I was watching a lot of Steve Dangle's game recap/analysis because, well, Steve is an entertaining man. While he covered other teams, especially in the playoffs, he is first and foremost a Leafs fan. Good for him. But it got me thinking, "I wish there was someone doing this for the Canucks." Lo and behold, nuckhead emerges for the 2023-24 season, just in time to provide poignant, funny, kind of weird, mostly fair game recaps and analysis on the greatest Canucks team of all time. Not even on the play lifts his stick and then slaps the blade into Hughes face and dodges a 4 min. McDirty got what he deserved. The only tragedy here is that the league decided they needed to play favorites so now our boys have to enforce justice themselves. Lil McWhiney is going to get chewed up. Best in the league looking like he should be in the minors. No mental discipline. Your whole team is a a 2man show and they're tiny. I'd take 6 and Demko back. Lose 1 win 2 is most likely scenario. Hate to say it. McDrai will be exhausted after game 4, and that should lend itself to our favour traveling back to Van and into game 5. Then game 6... Did any of you write an email to the league to complain about the Hyman cross check? Did you ACTUALLY do anything about it except whine? Bottom line is Soucy deserved to be suspended. "whataboutisms" are illogical for a reason. It has nothing to do with Hyman. That's a separate issue and if it bugs you that they missed it then take real action. Contact the league and tell them you don't like them missing the call. But don't sit here and act like Hyman's actions are a defense for Soucy.

I really liked Karlsson’s game! I forgot to mention that Tocchet put him out to defend the lead with under two minutes left. He should defs stay in the lineup for now.

It's looking like it's the Canucks year. Not a fan of either team but will be rooting for Team Canada whether that's the Oilers or Canucks. I just keep seeing things that keep pointing to this being a magical playoffs for the Canucks. They've come back in several games to Win them. Teams that can do that usually end up in the Cup. Also, I even see people leaving comments about how the Winner of this series is going to lose in the next round because they don't have defense. I disagree, because I think we're witnessing two juggernaut offenses. I can't be the only American that wants to finally see a Team from Canada Hoist it. I want the fans of Canada to be happy to have the Trophy back in Canada.

Actually post is good goal tending. Maybe not on that specific play, but on all the others where he's made big saves on them. That gets them thinking and then they feel like they have to pick top corner when really he probably could have gone almost center net.
