In this video I discuss game one of round two between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers. Everyone seems to think the Canucks are gonna be an easy-out for the Oilers but I believe it's quite the contrary. For some reason, those people don't realize that the Stanley Cup Playoffs are an entirely different beast. The Canucks are gonna take this home in six games (maybe even five) and Ryan Whitney (of the Spittin Chiclets podcast) is going to come on podcast and apologize for being a little baby. In game one, the best player in the world, Connor McDavid didn't even get a shot on goal (for the first time ever), Leon Draisaitl sustained some mysterious injury, Dakota Joshua and Conor Garland teamed up to lead their team to victory, and I crashed my car in celebration. The Vancouver Canucks are good... this is not a surprise at all. 🫡

As a long time Canucks fan, I have to admit that I was very tempted to bail out when it was 4-1. But then I remembered three things: 1. Game 4 against Nashville 2. The Vancouver Canucks are good. 3. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings and I DIDN'T HEAR NO FAT LADY!!!

Can’t speak for everyone but as a Canucks fan myself (who was at last night’s game), I feel like I bought in Toc’s “system”. Even with us down 4-1 (and my oilers fan friend next to me chirping away) I still had fun watching the game. The entire time we were down I just had this mock convo in my mind: Reporter: What was said during the intermission? Nucks players: just stick to our system. We play our brand of hockey and the rest will come. Thank you Toc. The Vancouver Canucks are good.

No team can win having that goaltending in the third period. No team would make it to the Memorial Cup in junior hockey if your goalie can’t stop shots from the blue line getting past him. Women goalies don’t give up as many soft goals as Skinner does.

Oilers fan here. I don't understand why anyone was doubting the canucks heading into this series. They dominated us in reg season and there was nothing to indicate this was going to be a blowout by the oilers. It actually pissed me off hearing everyone talking sh*t saying it was gonna be a sweep or done in 5. Makes no sense.

Miller's work on McDavid has been nothing short of stellar. Good all season and then we lock him down to his worst playoff performance ever. Our forwards are doing a real good job in the neutral and high defensive zones. Our D barely had to play him. The two examples in the video are great examples of our hustle from defensmen and forwards.

I'm just gonna keep coming back to the betting odds for the cup at the start of the 2nd round. Of the 8 teams, Oilers 2nd most likely to win at +450. 2nd least likely to win is Boston at +1000. Longest odds for the cup are the Canucks at +1800, nearly double anyone else. Nobody believes in this team, nobody wants to give them any credit. And it's making every single win they get in the face of that all the sweeter.

Canucks really are good. Even Šilovs didn't have the best game (he looked very stressed, like in the first game), the movements were too many and not needed and still he looked a bit slow. Maybe tiredness kicking in. But I believe in Vancouver to out perform the Oilers just by the grit and determination they're showing. You also have to remember that you have all of Latvia supporting Vancouver right now❤

As of right now, canucks are exceeding expectations by moving on into the second round. If we lose this series, shouldn't be a disappointed but instead looking forward to build on a successful season as of right now. Next 5 years, Stanley cup is coming to Vancouver
