As a Canucks fan it was a deserved 1 game suspension. A slash to the legs is different than a slash to the face, even though McDavids head was lowered due to Zadorov's cross check. I would argue that Ryans groin shot on Hollander was more intentional and equally deserving of a suspension than Soucy who was trying to cross check McDavid's upper chest and not his face.

which was completely accidental. It should have been called, but that's on the refs. Soucy needed to be suspended for that intentional cross check to the face

Dude i hate mcdavid myself but the canuck fans are embarrassing themselves picking on the headline and not even acknowledging what he said. He was fine with it said its part of playoff hockey. Literally the only people whining are you about quinn hughes....still lol I say this as someo0ne that wants the canucks to win this series. Its just funny to see people hate on a guy so much they just read a title to a video and start talking so much shit.

I agree whole hardy with you. I'm an Edmonton fan and so many of these Canucks fans have a hate on for him. He doesn't whine or cry, takes his lumps as well as gives them. He is the best player in the game and unfortunately for Canuck fans, he doesn't play for them. I don't hate Boeser or Miller or Silvos. I can watch and respect them as great hockey players making this a wonderful series to watch. I guess they would rather see him injured and winning games 8-0 , 6-1, instead of the great hockey they are seeing. If he was traded to Vancouver, they would be the first ones on his band wagon.

Mcdavid isn't complaining at all, it is amazing how people seem to twist everything Mcdavid does. He said the physicality is fun, he doesn't even care. By the way his "two hander" was in the very well protected pants area on Soucy and Soucy two handed him back right away, so they got even with each other, then Mcdavid was crosschecked in the face.

Lol take off the oil goggles and have another look. McDavid isn't whining here, he's an emotionless robot well trained to say nothing. "Not being frustrated, there's nothing to be frustrated about" doesn't match up with his on ice actions. This series he's been a whiny princess. Clearly the best player in the league, but I've lost a lot of respect for this bitch this series

It’s pretty simple. If your stick is propelled into someone’s neck, that’s extremely dangerous. Intent should be secondary similar to a high stick where a player is responsible for their own stick. Carelessness is not an acceptable excuse. The analogy is similar to “boarding”. If the act occurs and is severe enough, the state of mind is not relevant. If Donald Brashaer was trying to two hand McSorly on the shoulders but McSorly crouches it’s still a suspension if the stick hits the neck/head. By the way, the McDavid high stick in an earlier game should also have been a double minor. If Soucy isn’t suspended, then apparently we can cross check peoples necks/heads now.

I guess you missed the part when Soucy actually apologized to McCrybaby on the ice. McCrybaby only got it in the neck because he folded from the shot in his back. Somehow I don’t see an Oilers player apologizing for anything. McCrybaby wasn’t even hurt.

this is pretty normal for McDavid.. he's got very canned answers a lot of the time (heavy media training), and I also think he's just a typically dry personality... most of his interviews are super mono-tone and highly ambiguous answers... One game is a fair suspension. However world class players NEED to be protected, fans don't pay to see 4th liners. Connor initiated with the slash and got some payback, luckily he wasn't injured. It's a phyisical game and there's still some goon mentality the league hasn't figured out how to deal with.
