Fun fact: The A and B button layout on all Nintendo consoles and handhelds stayed the exact same since the release of the Game Boy back in 1989 (not counting the Wii, obviously). It was actually Sony and Microsoft who switched it around.

SNES actually. Gameboy had them at that orientation but only had two buttons. SNES standardised the current gamepad layout

Legend of Arceus is definitely one of the better pokemon games of recent times. I feel like the pokemon universe just works so much better in a more open world setting.

And it's quite sad that such a broken game, that finished ruining the series' core gameplay and abandoned any idea of balance or solid mechanic, is indeed one of the best recent installments of the franchise

I hate how this game is so bad when it comes to the things you mentioned that I can’t find the good even though there is good ..in fact this just made me like sword and shield enough to play it again. It a shame that this game feels like it will be a stepping stone for violet or whatever the new colors are

@@dinotech3416 well, it's clearly the prototype they made in order to train for scarlet and violet, except they sold it to us, because they're that thirsty. The game literally does only one thing good, which is the open capture gameplay (and it's so poor it only takes a few hours until you've seen all of it), and ALL the rest is in the worst state it's ever been. They haven't even considered how being able to capture any pokemon without fighting it affected the leveling experience (you don't have to level any pokemon up, just capture one that's 15 levels higher, there's no confrontation, just a ball to throw)

One of the most frustrating thing during Connor's pokemon stream is the WHOLE TIME he is playing pokemon legends arceus, he DID NOT use the ZL button to help his aim when throwing balls, it wouldve helped him catch better pokemon when he's stalking. But hey it was entertaining as hell.

Connor, I did not finish this, but I chose the pudge bird too. When you think about it Alola Decidueye = Ninja as a Grass/Ghost, Hisui Decidueye = Samurai. The story is part of the fun of the game. Also Mouse is like a bunch of the big pokemon. An Alpha.

The ball bonks when it’s thrown out the capture range, heavy has full range, poke balls short, and quick far. You have to catch within the time that white streak is folowing the ball

Even when there isn't much battling to do in the game, the fact that Hisuian Decidueye is Grass/Fighting really bothers me. Its design is cool, though, I'll give it that.

0:43 Having owned mostly asian consoles, the right side has always been confirm for me, starting from the PS1, maybe that's why I had trouble adjusting to the Xbox controller for PC but 0 issues playing adjusting to the switch. Because O was confirm and X is decline for me, same place where A and B is for nintendo.

ironically, the face buttons was originally nintendo did it first with the SNES but then xbox popularized it while nintendo was doing their random controllers BS during the Gamecube/Wii era and then just returned to the SNES layout with the With the Wii U and the switch...

100% Agree on the face buttons being swapped. That's why I got a device that allows me to flip them back to what I'm used to (and then I just use an xbox controller because it's more comfy for my hand).

Connor of course the starters get Hisuian forms what did you expect? I picked my starter based on their final Hisuian form. Didn’t like Hisuian Decidueye and og Samurott anyways so I went with Cyndaquil

Uh Idk if it works for the cutscenes the first time but if you are repeating it you can definitely skip it lol Although idk if the “dialogue” cutscenes work Definitely ones like the noble battle cutscenes can be skipped though

This is a mascotte of an italian news channel called "Striscia la notizia" and is known to be a borderline caracther, it became a massive meme in italy and i swear to god I wasn't expecting this in a Connor's edit, as an italian I just died of laughter. 80% of the video is Connor complaining that the cutscenes he isn't reading are boring, as if clicking "A" rapidly is a required feature of the game instead of a choice he is making I wouldn't have it any other way

You are not the only one who was disappointed by Hisuian Decidueye. I loved Decidueye in Sun and Moon (in part thanks to it being Grass/Ghost), so I was very let down by H-Decidueye being Grass/Fighting. I'd have taken Grass/Dark over Grass/Fighting. That type combination has 7 weaknesses instead of 6, but at least it has an immunity to Psychic.

0:48 It's more common in Japanese games for the 'accept' button to be the right-most, and 'cancel' to tbe the bottom one. Playstation games, for example, usually have 'O' for accept and 'X' for cancel (because that's what they mean), but they are flipped for English releases. And every Nintendo console has had the 'A' button to the right of 'B'. Basically, if you want to blame someone for changing it up, blame Microsoft's Xbox... well, it may also be Sega's fault, but they have been out of the console business for decades, and Xbox has prolonged the issue.
