Welsh and Old English (actual Old English, not the newer Shakespearean stuff that people call old English) actually have/had complex sounds. Not surprising at all that they could make similar sounds In fact, Latin had a lexical influence on Old English, hence why many words in modern English still have Latin routes

Probably won't happen. People who know Mouse will know he's doing something with her by the thumbnail alone. People who don't know Mouse probably know what a VTuber is, but don't have much experience with them, and that curiosity might get them to click, instead of just a name they don't recognize with no context.

Lol. Yeah, but that's because she is puertorican. They don't roll the r's (they sound more like l's even), and the t's are soft. Even for native Spanish speakers it its kinda bothersome to understand them when first exposed to that accent.

@@antholojade Hahaha; right, that's also another peculiarity. Latin America is too big to have a unified-ish pronounciation anyway, so it is cool once your ear get use to it for a couple of minutes. Sucks for someone learning Spanish as a second language, though, lol.

Not really. Welsh is a Germanic language. As a German speaker I saw some similarities

@@mastaw Welsh isn't Germanic, it's Brittonic. It's a very old Celtic language, far older than English or German. The most common ancestor Welsh has with German is Indo-European. Which means Welsh and German are as closely related as French is to Hindi

What I learned from this vid: 1 - Mouse's avatar is lit. She makes me feel things that as a man who not too into Vtuber, I don't know I can feel. 2 - Connor and Mouse are in the relationship where they befriend each other, teach each other things and talk shit to each other (which I love) 3 - Welsh is Japanese of Europe

I'll eventually learn it more fluently.... I kinda regret growing up in an English speaking part of the country. Just living in the country and having a bit of knowledge is like...... well, makes everything 100x easier. I've been teaching a friend who grew up in England just how to say place names. I try not to laugh any time someone is lost and asks for directions and I can't understand them; gotta get them to show me the place because guaranteed it doesn't sound anything that came out of their mouths. It IS hilarious when you get calls from big companies or the government and you 100% know they're not welsh.... and you happen to have a welsh street/town name. Legit my bank called me once and said 'look usually I'd read this out for you to confirm but I'm not even going to attempt that'.

@@misschieflolz1301 LOL But at least you can handle the pronunciation well (I think). Everything else is easy to learn if you invest the time. Pronunciation is usually the hardest thing to master in any language. I like to think that my English vocabulary and grammar are pretty good, but I probably won't ever sound like a native. Oh well lol

@@mastaw Yeah, both my Dad and especially my late Grandad struggle with pronounciation and these are native english speakers, lived in Wales for 40+ years and... well Dad was always the better of the two and he can just about handle 'Llan' based place names. I kinda get it though. That, along with 'ch' being the hardest sounds to master. Hard sounds with what will be very strange places in the mouth to create the sounds. I'd say your English written is very good. Keep practising! Your verbal language will get better, you might not sound 100% native but you might pick up part of an acccent that will give you a very unique sound =)

Spanish is a fun language. I work landscaping with my dad, I'm by no means anywhere proficient but when I get a sentence right and my coworkers die laughing like they do when they're joking with each other the energy is tops. It's a language that just rolls off the tongue once you find enjoyment with it

Connor is very correct on it being a trial to learning a language, I took German all 4 years of highschool and 2 and a half in college and being year and a half out of that I was feeling my German get rusty so I tried dualongo and it's rough, not because it's hard but because it's so formal when talking so I'll write a correct sentence but since it wasn't formal it was wrong or Id change some words around (something German can do) it would be wrong

I was honestly pretty impressed with Connor's pronunciation! It may be that japanese and spanish have very similar sounds, maybe knowing those made Connor avoid the typical English sounding pronunciation that native English speakers tend to have.

Welsh and Spanish actually share almost identical vowel sounds, although the consonants in Welsh are quite different

I'm from Wales and I've always gone to an English speaking school, a lot of people in my area also have English accents (I do too, although I'm Welsh) but my dad went to an all Welsh speaking school and his valleys accent is still kind of noticeable when he speaks :D it'd be cool to learn some more Welsh one day

Between Latin based languages and Celtic derived ones,I'll take the first ones thank you very much. Even vulgar spanish sounds like a clerical church recitation to me. Welsh sounds like a bunch of really advanced Harry Potter spells (no offense). Though nothing will ever top Finnish of course, God damn with that one.
